Wireless extender will not hook up

I replaced my old Comcast ARRIS TM402P router today with the new Comcast ARRIS TG862. When I tried to get my Amped Wireless Signal Extender to link up it would not do it. I was very careful to type the network key on several occasions and it would not work. I tried the WPS buttons and NOPE it did not work. I resorted to using the ethernet cord between the new router to my linksys router and then connecting the Amped Wireless Router to the Linksys as that was how I had it hooked up with the old Comcast router.

Any suggestions as to how I can get the Amped Wireless Router to communicate directly to the Comcast wireless router without the Linksys router in between?

The Arris device is not a router. It is just a EMTA(modem). If you tried a direct swap for the old Arris and the new one, you may have a setting that is preventing it based on the old configuration.
The wireless on the 862 can be shady at times. Can you connect to the 862 with a laptop wirelessly?
