Asking since I did have the account at one time - didn't like the TOS and unregistered the Nook. Couldn't delete the account, so I buggered the password and entered it. Haven't seen any crap from B&N for almost 2 years, the account no longer exists, and all of a sudden I get this? Is it just blanket spam or did they resurrect the password from a server somewhere? I am disgusted since you cannot delete an account on your own. You have to call customer service. |

| Buggering your password will have zero effect on their ability to send you e-mail. What I normally do when dealing with a company that won't let me delete an account, is to set my account's e-mail address to "abuse@.com" or if I'm particularly annoyed, the e-mail address of random executives. *They* can get the spam. *Then* I bugger the password and all other personal info, but that's mostly to make it less likely a database hack on their end will glean any useful info.
The apparent IP address does seem to be from B&N. -- Xplornet WiMAX -} Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH running DD-WRT -} about 13 machines running everything you can think of. |
