Windstream Reset My Service From 12Mbps to 10Mbps.

Logging into my modem my Internet down speed is 10Mbps. Previously it was 12Mbps. I called Windstream tech support and the person I spoke with was no help at all. I don't think she even knew what I was talking about. This same thing happened several years ago and a ticket was opened and the local office simply reset it. I am paying for 12Mbps. How can I get it reset?

There was a general power outage several days ago. I don't know if this had anything to do with it or not.

If there was a power outage, it is possible that caused a lot of errors to accumulate in the equipment, when errors accumulate the system automatically lowers your train rate thinking that it will increase the stability of the line. Most likely all that needs to be done is to bounce your provisioning, which will reset the error counters and you should be good to go. Send me a PM and we will get it taken care of.
