Re: 8 Channel Bonding in St Lous!

said by rpht:

I just power cycled my modem and I still only have 4 channels in central west end. Will have to wait and see when they roll it out for the rest of us.

what modem do you have?

Only 1.0.6.6 firmware will do 8 channel bonding.

Here is more of my modem config and status page. Is there another way to determine the version I have?

Welll that is interesting. Someone claimed 8 channel bonding only happens with 1.0.6.6 firmware. Not true since you are on 6.3 and 8 channel bonding is enabled. You are in the right spot to see what version number you have. Depending on area and system setup. I wonder if they will be updating their firmware for you. I am on 1.0.6.6 personally.

For all capable modems, or only Charter provided ones?

Perhaps a statement of the obvious (at least to some) but for sure only those that support 8 channels. Both of my modems are only capable of 4 upstream channels (Moto 6120 and Ubee U10C035).

My speculation is it will roll into whom/whatever modems will accept the versions of firmware they push.
