Any Blackberry/Gmail Experts?

Have a new work smart-phone. Our business uses gmail (but use our own domain). My phone flashes red for new mail, even if I have read the messages on my desktop. Any ideas how to fix?

This a new bb10 device?
If yes, try rebooting it, we've seen this happen sometimes a daily occurrence.

No. Slightly older. Blackberry Torch 9860. Runs BB7? I think.

BIS, I think. We don't have our own Enterprise Server.

How did you set the accout up in your phone? POP or Imap

If pop it won't sync with your phone.

Be sure to set it up with IMAP or even better Activesync.

I have my domain with google and when setup with Activesync everything syncs and the mail is on my phone instantly. When read somewhere else it syncs and shows read on the phone.

Unfortunately Google no longer supports Activesync, only accounts that had activated it prior to the shutdown can use it.

Google has also ended support for Blackberry, I think. Such a shame.

Wrong.

He is using a paid domain which still can use activesync.

I do it myself.

Also is the op phone a new BB10 phone? If so there is no BIS needed anymore.
