[CA] Massive Packet Loss to EU connections

Is anyone else seeing this? Today, it seems like any connection to an EU endpoint from COX's network is resulting in massive packet loss. Below are some ping plots to various EU endpoints, all of which show huge drops COX end.

I also had a FIOS customer try to ping these and they have zero issues or packet loss.

According to the images, the first and third image show 0 packet loss to the endpoint.

Unless I'm reading something incorrectly, the PL% column on images 1 and 3 show 33%-36% packet loss respectively on COX network.

Even pinging microsoft.com (above) has 65% packet loss when routing through langbprj02-ae2.rd.la.cox.net

you need to account for packet prioritization. If the through packet makes it through then its done its job. Not required to reply.

In other words a prior hop can not be worse than a later hop.

Choose another site. MS.com has never responded to pings. So you don't know if it is 65% PL or ICMP depriortization.

COX's routers have QOS settings that will "de-prioritize" ICMP and traceroute traffic. If you look at your target host in the first image it has 0 loss, the second target has 5%. The third target has 0% loss, it just appears that the routers upstream of that target are ignoring traceroute/icmp traffic..

Basically if the target host does not show the same or greater packet loss as the previous hops you're just seeing the effects of QOS/packet filtering along the route..

As you can see here, various routers along COX's network are showing packet loss but the final target has 0%..
