[Channels] Re: New Channels coming in SEP Maybe they'll have a cocktail show. Somebody's got to try to cash-in on the recent resurgence of classic drinks. I'd watch that.
They could do a version of "Chopped"... and in your basket is: Rye, sweet vermouth, fernet branca and calves liver... Go! |

[Channels] Re: New Channels coming in SEP FX has begun advertising their new channel FXX is coming online on 4 September. In the online site ( fxx.com ) the channel finder says FiOS will carry it, but it doesn't have an assigned channel # |
|
 | It won't be an addition like the others, it's replacing Fox Soccer Channel, both in SD and HD. I'd imagine the channel # would be close to FX. |

channel 584 on Sept 2 at 7 am on already shows FXX programing. At some point soon, I assume it will move from 584 to 559. Or both FX and FXX will move so they are together. |
|
 | Yeah 59/559 makes the most sense I would figure. |

Any word as to what channel number FXX/FXX HD are going to air? |

 | The always reliable Wiki says it will be on 584. Obviously incorrect.

It's going to be channel 584 in English and 1522 in Spanish audio |

"relaunch G4 into Esquire Network, which will air shows aimed at a metrosexual audience about travel, cooking, fashion and non-sports related male programming, including the addition of acquired and archive NBCU content such as Party Down, Parks and Recreation, and week-delayed episodes of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon."
Straight from wikipedia. A network for the miniscule # of hipsters who still have cable television? It's like making bird feed for the dodo. I'd be more likely to watch it than a PAC10 channel. |
|
 | It's the PAC-12 now. And I'd like to see it somewhere on Verizon, perhaps the extra cost sports package. My suspicion, though, is that the PAC-12 people want to charge all subscribers a fee.
Of course I'm in the LA area, which has two PAC-12 teams, only one of which I root for. |

 | Wikipedia was correct. They only forgot to mention the Spanish audio |

I hope they move it eventually. It doesn't make sense to have FXX lumped in the middle of the sports channels. |

I'm gonna go out on a limb with what we know about the channels that have migrated to mpeg4 and say that within the next 30 days at least 3 new HD channels will be added. One definately will be SONY HD, FS2 will be the second (Fox Soccer of course will be FXX HD) and the third will be H2 (just a hunch)...
Tune back in 30 days to see how it turned out... |

That would be better than the heavily rumored 2 new .tv 'channels'. |

You ever see Comcast's channel ordering? There IS no rhyme or reason to anything they do with that. DirecTV is better, but again they have an ordering that's far from perfect - there are gaps in what they have. I think Verizon actually does a pretty darn good job on this front. I think there deficiencies, to be sure - I think they need to move the old sports pack channels in with the actual sports channels, e.g., instead of keeping them segregated in the low 300's like that. And while I have some disagreements with how they categorize some channels, overall I think they do more than just about every other provider out there on this front. When they added all those HD channels, they didn't just slap them wherever in the line-up (ala Comcast), they reorganized everything. I also give them kudos for creating a national line-up... something that no other cable company (that I'm aware of) does. Again, not perfect, but I don't think it's fair to slam them on this. |

I think they should order them by height. With some things you can't really improve upon how they did them in grade-school chorus. |

I like that . One improvement they could make - let me customize my channel ordering. Have a default numbering, but then let me order them anyway I want in the guide. |

When I'm scrolling through the guide and get to the bottom, it should automatically advance me to the top (beginning) of the guide. I should not have to manually scroll backwards through all the channels again to get to the top. This seems like such a simple fix. |
