No sorry I didn't. They actually state 24 lines on a T1

Well, first off, a T1 can carry upto 24 traditional voice lines... So 12 lines off a T1 is only half loaded, to start with...

BUT - I believe you're talking VoIP trunks, seeing as you referred to G.711 codec...

A T1 used for data is 1.54 mpbs - a G.711 voice channel is 64kpbs - so 12 G.711 trunks would need 768kpbs - or roughly half the bandwidth available on the T1.

Either VoIP trunks or 'traditional' lines, 12 trunks is no big deal for a T1...

Clear as mud?

Thats what I thought when I said I figured it out but its states 24 g.711 streams on a T1
