Essentially it's just aggressive cleaning. It's not reversing the damage done to the record, only cleaning out the detritus that has accumulated (and definitely when the record was scratched). I would think the wood glue trick would be just as good and do so with virtually no risk for more damage to the record.
Yes that or ANYTHING STICKY i reckon would do it also!!
I tried this guys idea on 1 of my records from the 80s I didnt take care of and doesnt play well anyway and IT DIDNT DO ANY GOOD!! (If anything it made it worse (Which I thought might be what would happen))
