[DSL] Finally activated on TekSaavy DSL 25/10!!!
So I was with Primus on their 5M / 800k "high speed" and needed more power I placed an order with TS on Jul 12 with an activation scheduled 30 days out (since Primus requires 30 days to cancel). So everything was set for the Aug 16th.
I started to get calls from TS stating my order was rejected by Bell which made sense since "Primus" still had the line. So until this week, my fun with Primus began to get them off my line. If you are planning to move from Primus to TekSavvy, make sure you
** Get Primus to disconnect your DSL by submitting a request to Bell.
At first Primus was only turning my internet from their billing and front end which frankly is useless. Once Bell sees the cancel order then they will accept the TS order as happened in my case.
I was working with TSI Andre via IM and he is AWESOME!!!!! He helped me through with quick responses and got things done. I was impressed.
The beauty of my upgrade from ADSL to VDSL was I lost Internet for only 1 hour !!! As long as Bell sees the cancel order for your current provider, they will accept the TS order. TS needs 5 days, so plan the disconnect and activation 1 day apart. Even after the decativation my DSL was working via Primus.
On the day of the activation the TS contractor showed up at 11:30am (called me first to see if he could come early) and did his stuff within 20 minutes. He was extremely nice and told me my line had been upgraded already by Bell. Strangely my Primus acount was still working on this new line (albeit with the original slow speeds).
I then switched to my TS id/password and was getting an invalid username/password error. The TS contractor advised that Bell needs to do something once he tells them he is done. It should take 30 minutes to 2 hours. I had to step out anyway but when I got back 2 hours later the Internet was all working!
I did a speedtest and getting the full 25Mb / 10 Mb so quite happy.
If you are considering transferring to TS - especially if you are with Primus - post on this forum and I will help you out with my experience.
My hope phone (traditional) still remains with Primus.
