I like what I am seeing here. Can't wait to see how it all handles in actual flight.
I got to say, Star Citizen and X Rebirth make me very happy. They are a great step up for space sims. My biggest disappointment with the previous space sims and 4X games is that, no matter how many ships and bases there are and no matter what you fly in or own, the world felt depressing, lonely and small. The sizes of ships and bases were irrelevant since the inside of them didn't actually exist, so I never got a proper comparison and I never got the real 'wow' effect because everything around me just got smaller and even more insignificant instead.
If the bases and the bigger ships are as fleshed out as these one though, then that's going to make me really say wow once I get out of a tiny fighter and move on into a freighter or a cruiser. Can't wait to see what that will be like in space.

I think that Star Citizen and GTA 5 (PC Version) are my two anticipated games for 2014. Even though GTA5 doesn't have a PC release date, I think it'll end up being end of this year or nearly next year based on history.
I think we'll have to see if MWO:CW turns out to be something good and if they ever get around to actually releasing it. Other than that, I'm not finding much out there that seems to be a big attention grab.
The SC2 MMO addon was pretty crappy from the single player perspective. -- A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have. -MLK |

STAR CITIZEN: CHRIS ROBERTS' DREAM GARAGE When I saw this topic title, I thought the video would be of his IRL garage full of Ferraris that he bought with all the money people gave him to "buy" polygon ships in his video game.
Tigerlord is going to need a ship just to fly between his other ships in his garage. lol
Didn't Roberts say he was going to release the garage app by the end of this month? |

The new milestone unlocked the ability for players to own and operate space stations across the massive galaxy of Star Citizen, along with the Roberts Space Industries Museum, a database for articles about Roberts, his team, and their past projects.
With $19 million under their belt, the team unveiled the $21 million stretch goal: the salvage mechanic. This will allow players to search and scavenge for useful materials in both flight and FPS modes. Are we ready to run our own stations homies?
SO SAY WE ALL! |

Fears of Star Citizen cutting into Eve's pie:

I haven't been following Star Citizen too closely, but it seems like it's going to cause some ripples in the MMO sphere when the multiplayer component gets launched.

Star Citizen has released the info that Tigerlord has won the game, even though it is not released yet. Citing Tigerlord's huge bankroll, the game developers issued the following statement: "All hail Tigerlord, the finest galaxy emperor we have ever seen. Oh, and thanks for making us gazillionaires, so long suckers!" Development has now ceased. -- ~ Project Hope ~ |

Tigerlord is an Asgard. Technologically advanced, powerful ships and weapons.... but ultimately doomed to extinction due to lack of sex. -- "Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power." -- Benito Mussolini

I only have 5 ships and only two were visible in the app so I guess the other models weren't ready.
The value of my actual empire has been greatly exaggerated but I will still conquer everyone in this game.
The mere imprint of my buttcheeks will be worth money in that universe. |
