A lot more cable subscribers can get DOCSIS3 wideband (50+ mbps) than uverse subs that will qualify for at&t's new 45 meg plan.
I predict that there will be a lot of unhappy uverse subscribers wanting the 45 mbps plan and only being able to get 12 mbps... or less.
Keep in mind that xDSL is
distance restricted.
