Moving Service To New Address

Hello, I switched my drop loop DSL from Verizon to DSLX a year ago and am very happy with the service and with the support I got on this message board, so thank you.

I am moving to a new home on 9/1, and I called 8/22 to move my service with some overlap. I wanted my new service to begin ASAP and the service at my old location to end 9/13. Based on my conversation with the billing department, I don't have the best feeling this is going to get done right, they didn't realize this was dry loop at first and and they messed up on the new location on the order. I also have yet to be given a start date.

As I found this forum more helpful than official support last time, I was wondering if someone from DSLX could look into my situation and make sure I am on track for dry loop DSL at my new location and give any guidance on expected start date. Thanks

Looks like the order was updated already, but no activation date yet (which isn't unusual, it takes a little bit of time for that to process). It's definitely marked as dryloop, and disconnection date for old service is 9/13/13. I'll send you an IM to confirm the correct address.

Thanks for the reply. Perhaps just a coincidence, but I just got an update saying that VZ is going to turn the switch on 8/28. Glad to know everything is moving along nicely. Thanks.

Must be coincidence; I just checked myself, rather than contacting one of the reps who process such orders. Glad it's moving along

VZW did the switch on 8/28, anything I need to know about setting up in the modem and the new house even though I still have service running on my original modem at my old house?

Looks like it was easy as logging into the modem to add my user and password and then turning off the walled garden. Not bad.

1383kB/s down is pretty bad compared to the 3000kB/s this plan was supposed to have. Is that something I bring up with support?

Yes, that's definitely lower than it should be. I see that one of our techs tried to get ahold of you earlier today, but we didn't have a valid contact number. We've updated the account now, will call that new number now.
