Growing up I was not much of DC Comics books fan, the only DC superhero I would read was Batman...I thought Superman was silly and the Hulk would decimate the Man of Steel in a confrontation... I was more into Stan Lee's Marvel Comics, my favorite being Fantastic Four, Spiderman and Thor...
However I thought it was interesting when I stumbled upon this tidbit that DC was moving it's superhero group, the Justice League of America to Canada....
quote:"It's not really like Alpha Flight, as we're not creating a bunch of very Canadian characters," Lemire says. "Like those characters are all almost clichéd Canadian archetypes. This is still very much set in the regular Justice League universe and the team will still have some of the bigger named superheroes, but they will actually be located in Canada now, and there will be a couple of new members who are Canadian. So obviously as a Canadian, and as a Canadian storyteller, it's something I'm very proud of."
Oh, thank God. Alpha Flight was brutal back in the 80's... "Oh, look, Comics now have their first gay character... and of course he's Canadian! And we have this character here that's small and has a black suit... like a puck, eh!"
I will have one of what you are drinking -- "The hardest thing about any political campaign is how to win without proving that you are unworthy of winning." ~ Adlai E. Stevenson
What? Batman is WAY cooler than Superman. Plus he keeps kryptonite on hand -- The irony of common sense, it is not that common. I cannot deny anything I did not say. A kitten dies every time someone uses "then" and "than" incorrectly. I mock people who give their children odd spelling of names.

lol should we press the "Nerd Alert" button before we continue this conversation
Batman would never get close enough to Superman to use it -- "The hardest thing about any political campaign is how to win without proving that you are unworthy of winning." ~ Adlai E. Stevenson
I'm not a big fan or Superman or Batman, but I did read the majority of their comics... Batman would never even need to get close to Superman to take him out. The difference between him and everyone else is that Batman is always at least 2 steps ahead of everyone. He is pretty much the most dangerous hero in all of the DC Universe.

Please! With all of the technology and wealth that Batman has access to, he could find a way to inject the kryptonite directly into Superman's blood stream from afar without him even knowing what's going on.
but if that schmuck afllack is going to be batman in the superman movie, DC comics has just lost a fan forever.
I saw something that was pointed out this past week. When it was announced that Heath Ledger was going to play Joker in The Dark Knight there was backlash from fans. That turned out ok.
'Turned out ok' is an understatement. People who wanted to storm the DC Comics HQ and burn it down ended up idolizing Ledger... I'm not a fan of Affleck, but I'll be waiting for them to actually make the movie first.
Daredevil is part of Marvel though, so there is nothing wrong with him playing someone in the DC universe. Even if they were all in the same universe, no one has to stick to one role. Chris Evans pulled it off with Fantastic Four and Captain America/Avengers.
And anyway, Ledger's past movie performance wasn't any better than Affleck's. I don't see why he can't do the same if everyone does their job properly.

in both cases Batman + others defeat Superman -- "The hardest thing about any political campaign is how to win without proving that you are unworthy of winning." ~ Adlai E. Stevenson
I heard (and this is just hearsay) that the director's cut of Daredevil is way better than the original. Then again I might be making things up in my head again :S...
Fantastic Four under Stan Lee (writer) and Jack King Kirby (artist) was the best comic book EVER!!!! Conan the Barbarian by Barry Windsor-Smith a very close second... It was msotly because of Jack Kirby and Barry Windsor-Smith that I got interesting in drawing and art...
have you ever seen an afflech movie? Particularly Daredevil?
Why yes, I have seen an Affleck movie. In fact I've seen more than a few. And yes, Daredevil was bad. And I have seen him in better movies both before and after that. I have also seen Affleck evolve as both an actor and a director in the 10 years since Daredevil. On a gut level, he wouldn't have been my first choice, but I'm prepared to give the guy a chance before writing it off. I think there is potential.
Super villians Thanos (Marvel), Galactus (Marvel) or Darkseid (DC) could whip the Fantastic Four, Avengers and Justice League combined as as one super team up...
I saw an interview with Stan Lee the other day on the idjut box that summed it up nicely.
Whenever anyone asks him (all the time it seems) who would win a fight between Thor and the Hulk or Spiderman and Daredevil for example, "It all depends on who's writing the story!"

Tony Stark (Marvel's Ironman) has the money and technology that matches Bruce Wayne...and Ironman would kick the Caped Crusaders butt...
