New York → [Need Info] Change Jury Duty location

I just got my notice that I will have to start calling to report for Federal duty at Cadmen Plaza in Brooklyn! Is there any way at all to get it changed ? I know there is a federal court in Central Islip.

I believe you can call or write to them and explain that the distance would be an issue -- and for you I believe it really would.

If you live in Suffolk County then you're not required to do jury duty in Kings County.

Eastern District covers all of physical Long Island and SI. Contact the Court Clerk of the Jury Section to find out if you can serve in Islip. However, Federal jury service works a bit differently than state courts. You generally must provide verifiable proof of hardship to modify or be excused from service. In some states, jurors have to travel a lot farther than Northport to downtown Brooklyn, so simply being "too far" by your reckoning is usually not an acceptable excuse.
