Monthly Taxes on DirecTV through Sonic

I'm thinking of getting DirecTV through Sonic and wondering how much the monthly taxes are for the television service (not any sales tax on the boxes)? Right now through Comcast I pay $14 in taxes, surcharges, and fees for my t.v. service (on top of the package plan, equipment rental, etc.).

Thanks for any replies.

I saw that already. There is no information there about the actual amount of the taxes. It just says that there are taxes.

I appreciate the reply, but its hard to imagine how you thought that link in any manner was a response to my question about "how much" the monthly taxes actually are.

Are they the same as cable, different, what? I want numbers so I can make a meaningful comparison on total cost of Directv through Sonic vs. Comcast. No one likes surprise extra costs when they went to all the hassle of switching to get a better deal. And it's just annoying how much the costs are obfuscated (for example Directv talk about how there are no equipment fees, but then charges a "service" fee for each piece of equipment--something mentioned nowhere on Sonic's site--that is a complete.non-transparent attempt to manipulate potential customers).

Your website lists the tax rates for different locations for phone service, is some general guidline for taxes related to the Directv service not possible?

If not, that's why I asked here to find out what actual users are actually paying, so that I could get some sense.

Generally they are lower than cable due to no local fees/taxes. It's just regular sales taxes, etc.

Thanks.

The biggest fees on my cable bill are the Franchise Fee ($5) and the Utility Tax ($7). There is also a pretty small PEG Access Support fee ($1), State Sales Tax ($.33), and FCC User Fee ($.08).

Do you know which ones would apply with Directv?

Reviewing my own personal DirecTV bill, the only tax on there is the sales tax:

Taxes
Sales Tax 1.48

Satellite providers don't have local franchise or utilities fees as far as I know, as they're not using any local infrastructure.
