Mediacom → cisco DPQ2160 constantly losing connection

Had mediacom install modem, it is the cisco dpq2160, the online light goes out 3-4 times a day, it must be unplugged to reset, then works till the next time. Sometimes when I cannot get a connection the light for online will still be on and will not connect, unplugging to reset will fix that also. I have programs that I have to log in online for them to work, I may leave and comeback with no download done as it has lost the connection and must be reset. What can I do.

Is your computer directly connected to the modem?

I have had it connected to the router and wireless only. It is connected to the router at this time. Never directly to the modem as there is only one outlet and it is used to go to the router.

Try removing the router and connecting direct to the modem to see if there is any change. If not, feel free to send me an IM with your account or phone number and I will look into things on this side.
