Re: New 'toolbar' here at dslr ! said by Zupe:said by justin:if you set minibar to "top" it is fixed to the top so no scrolling is required to use anything on it. if you don't like the strip you can choose left, then it is a subtle column on the left always there.
if neither suit pretend you came to the site today and these are the some of the many choices offered. Pick the one you find works best of least worst for you. How many user interface choices does Facebook offer? I am aiming for that goal one day. (one). I just don't understand the point of a change that doesn't seem to improve anything and makes the site more difficult to navigate. Many of us agree. Change for changes sake to suit one person. This whole 'redesign' has a backward feel to it. |

You seem to have removed all of your actually useful buttons from the toolbar--the default four. (I've never seen so much unused space at the top of a page [here].) |

Thank you for letting me see that..... I assume if I enable scripts that bar would follow me down the page also..
I wonder why the text under my handle on the left on your IE7 is not bold (Premium, etc) -- I see you must have it set that way |

1 recommendation | it isn't locked to the top on IE6, because IE6 has trouble doing anything more than netscape navigator version 2.0 did in 1998. |

I fixed a bug where if you got "converted" from old to top, it would be with just the spanner and plus symbol. Now if the bar is found empty of icons, it will re-populate itself. with the default starting ones. |

Re: New 'toolbar' here at dslr ! I like the old layout too. I don't quite understand taking away an option to impose new use of another option. Perhaps it's to make this site look prettier on an iPad while using Apple Safari. *yuck* Perhaps one day the location "OFF" option will disappear too providing no choice. Having a static like toolbar being displayed in a browser window looks ugly. I've turned it off. Hopefully it stays off. I don't like it but it's what justin likes so... 1 recommendation | It isn't a nefarious plan to make the site prettier under Safari (I don't know how that one would work anyway).
You've been on the internet a long time you've never seen a user interface change that (for you) wasn't 100% positive? You've always been given the option to keep the original interface, for ever?
I can't believe I'm using the word interface for four buttons btw. |
|
Dude111An Awesome DudePremium join:2003-08-04 USA kudos:11 |   Well I think things look quite good as far as the interface goes..... Im kinda glad the bar isnt locked on mine,i dont know if i would like it always there... (The way its always been I can goto top and see it (Before today though I didnt realise what it was)) |

if you're on a page you go to frequently, where it shows green, click it, and decide what icon you want for the page by using the popup. If it is a red +, then that URL is already there. |
