Im down on McNicoll POI since 3am. T3 timeout, lost of sync. Only 3 upstream channel bonded and modem cannot get an ip. Seems like dhcp issue? |

my internet dropped out around 2 am last night and is STILL out.
1) when will service be restored 2) I request a credit on my account for downtime |

Hi hightech,
Sorry to hear that you are down, can you post in the direct forum so that we can troubleshoot the issue and open a ticket for you. This will also assist in keeping track of the issue and provide specific time we can credit for the downtime.
Cheers,
TSI Jonathan |

I also have no choice but to leave TekSavvy as well. I can't tether forever. I found a good student deal with Rogers and activation is free + no contract so I'll be with them if I don't come back online by Friday. I'll see how rCable TPIA is after 8 months when my promotion ends. I'll probably go to Start cuz they have no activation fees when you transfer from Cable internet.
Escalations meshcalations, nothing worked for me and many others.
How anyone is without internet for a week in a 1st world country is beyond me.
CRTC needs to get replaced. The current system sucks @$$. |

Well I'm in the L4Z area and I've never had an outage or speed issue so far. Reading all these DHCP issues on Wolfedale POI was making me nervous so I checked the lease time remaining on my router this morning and it was at 3 days and 10 hours. Looking at the modem logs, I see DHCP renew failed messages so I'm afraid I'm going have the same issue once the lease is up . I sure hope they can get this fixed soon. I'd hate to have to leave TSI as I haven't had any issues since getting their service. Any outages I've had were due to Rogers issues in the areas affecting Rogers customers as well. |

Without internet for 7 days in Wolfedale... wtf!
Here's the kicker... TekSavvy "can't" open a ticket with Rogers if you have an old "discontinued" modem (old firmware)! Guess who is waiting for a new modem!
What's going on people? |

I did post in the Direct Forum shortly after this and did not get a reply from anyone. Here is the link: » [Cable] No Cable Internet since 2 AM - When will it be back? |

Looks like a DHCP issue is starting on McNicoll We are missing a few tickets to open a master. If you haven't already posted in the direct, please do so if you are having DHCP issues on McNicoll. Thanks, Andre |

Maybe that's Rogers' way of pulling in new customers? |

You're missing "a few tickets" because TekSavvy "can't" open tickets for customers with old modems (old firmware). |

I just got a temp IP lease (1hr) on McNicoll after being down since 3am. Gunna see how long this can hold out for.
Signal is still messed up on modem, only boding 3 upstream channels instead of normal 4 and modulations are different for each. |

DHCP issues in Ottawa. Any news?
I called last night but couldn't get through, there was a front end message on the phone system saying Ottawa affected. I emailed support, but no answer as of yet.
I'm downtown Ottawa, cable, don't know my POI. |

I was going to start.ca but I realized with the 10 day transfer time I could very well be out of Internet service till then.
The idea of being out for possibly 19days was enough for me so I called Rogerz. The offered 35/3 with 300gb cap and included the modem (no rental fee) for $45 all in no contract. Just have a one time $14 activation fee.
I hate going back to them but I will be back online by Monday.
No doubt Rogers is doing this deliberately to teksavvy by dragging their feet. They did however expose the TPIA Achilles heel that they are currently at the complete mercy of Rogers. Once they have some legal traction and the CRTC backing then up I will certainly consider returning.
If I do come back online before then I will update you guys in the same boat as me. |
