| [DISH] Dish: Lie, Lie, Lie I recently terminated service with Dish after 10 years with them. They had double billed us, and I had received an e-mail from them stating that the overpayment would be mailed to us. It never happened. Our bill was also supposed to be $86 for 10 months. I received a bill for Sept for $120, the regular monthly charge. FWIW (not much), I have every conversation with them recorded. So, anyway, this was a little over a week ago (and the agent then even stated they would drop my bill $50/month for 10 months). So, the boss (spelled wife) just couldn't get used to a new system, and it was like being around a mother bear who had lost her cubs ! I had to switch back to Dish, and the first thing the agent states is that they need a payment of $98.00. They don't tell you what for, nothing. I'm promised a bill of $86 again, plus Showtime, Starz, and (Cinemax for a year for 1 cent) & blockbuster for 3 months. OK, I would have done anything at this point just to get the service back....so I pay the $98, and hook the system back up myself (distribution box and all; no big deal, but it saved them money, not having to send someone out to do it), and things worked fine, except I didn't have any movie channels. I call Dish, and apparently I was "confused"; the first agent who activated the service gave me a choice of dropping the price for 10 months, or Cinemax for 1 year for 1 cent. I have the actual conversation recorded, and that's a lie. Regardless, the agent was able to "give" me Showtime, Starz, and Cinemax + Blockbuster for 3 months. I have "fought" with these people at Dish since June, and they do nothing but lie. I couldn't sleep at night if I ripped customers off the way Dish does. Oh, and I had asked the first rep who reactivated my service if she could send the exact equipment and programming I was receiving, with costs and conditions, in an e-mail. She wouldn't. That tells me a lot in itself. IF I attempted to make this a legal issue, we all know Dish probably has a gaggle of attorneys standing by. And would tie it up for years for some reason. If a snake is a lowlife, then I have no conception what you would call a company like Dish ! |

| Yes, I can understand why ! Dish could give the CIA courses in "creative lying" ! There's probably a reward, and/or betting pool for the rep who can get over the best (worst) on some poor customer !! |
G00SEPremium join:2003-03-07 Conroe, TX | Thanks for the replies, although this is "somewhat" late... We settled on 2 Hoppers, and I'm able to mirror each on the 2 TV's that are not used that much, using the component outputs. All's well on the Dish front for now. |
