Anyone else just regain port 25 outgoing?

Remember in 2009 when Verizon shut down port 25 outgoing to third party email servers?

I never deleted an account I had in Mail and left it running for years as unable to connect.

Today... it just loaded 1,600 messages. What? Interesting. Guess 110 works.

I also just sent one.... 25... works?

Anyone else confirm we have this access back?

Is the circuit you are using dynamic or static? Port 25 isn't filtered on port 25 for static customers.

I'm confused, even if outgoing port 25 is blocked you should still have been able to retrieve POP mail on Port 110 all these years.

Did your mail client just retrieve or send 1,600 messages?

If it was retrieve something else is going on.

I think it was coincidence. I could never send from it.

Once it pop'd I started to play around.

I think port 25 outgoing goes away in September according to the E-mails I've seen from Verizon.

port 25 is blocked for me outbound, maybe verizon has it open for specific mail servers?

My mail server that I run out on the internet listens not only on port 25 but on 587 as well. 587 is a commonly used port for sending email to a "smarter" host. The server also listens on another non-standard port in the event 587 is blocked for some reason.
