these new letters seem to be generic in nature not citing specifically how much the "offending" consumption levels are... this makes me wonder if Verizon is imposing an arbitrary cap on users threatening with disconnection as the remedy.
the more these letters go out to subscribers, the more unlikely they are to sign up for 2 year contract deals. in effect they are killing their own subscriber certainty. at worst they are colluding on terms of service with ISPs which already do the same kind of thing. Comcast and Time Warner come to mind as the most offending given their highest % of the ISP market as cablecos.
consumers will have to fight back against this as it is likely to go too far against consumers.. sooner rather than later.
