who gives a flying fsck? there's so many other problems right now, the usage meter should be the LAST thing you're asking about. Heck, if you got internet enough to be checking usage, you're in the top tier. So easy, fella. |

I have it on good authority that there is no usage billing meter system for rCable, and as such, they're unable to even tell how much we're using. |

Start.ca has implemented their usage meter in rCable territory a few months ago. But start has been aggregated from the start. |

Why are people so eagerly waiting for usage meter? Currently, you do no get charged for extra GB that you go over the limit. You can keep track of your usage yourself. If you have router that is compatible with DD-WRT or Tomato, you can easily track monthly usage. |

Asking the question isn't going to suddenly make the usage meter appear. +1 Not sure why so many negative, unhelpful responses. OP asked a simple question. Do people think TS "forgot" about it and the OP reminded them, thus ruining everyone's free ride? Sheesh... I'd like to know as well, and preferably have plenty of notice of when usage billing comes into effect. If I was aware that the usage meter was up and running, I could use it for a couple of months beforehand and reasonably assess whether 300GB was enough for my household or if it was worthwhile going for an unlimited package. |

And by that time they have fsck us over any time they want with aggregated and do some poaching whenever they feel like it. As evident as the problems we have now... I have a feeling this is just the start. |

clearly people are using more than 300GB or whatever the monthly cap is and want to continue without paying for the unlimited option. |

They haven't forgotten about it. I have it on record from TSI that they're working on a solution, and they have nothing at this time. |

This was from direct forum, last week.
[Cable] Bandwidth Usage Hey TSI!
CID****** Rod here,
I was wondering if you could tally my U/D stats since I signed up to the rCable? I'm just interested in how much I'm actually using.
Thanks!

Thank you for your post.
Currently at this time we do not have anything to check the monthly bandwidth. I would not be able to check the usage since you signed up. Our vendor has not provided us with a tool to track the usage for the rCable service. However, we are working on getting a bandwidth tracker for our customers. So hopefully it should be out soon, there is no ETA on this as of yet.
Thanks,
Chris. |

said by rogersmogers :Why do you want to get charged for overages? Probably a Rogers employee... actually no, it's not in the interest of Rogers to provide a usage meter, because, this way, all the high usage customers implicitly move over to third party internet providers, who then saturate their bandwidth, and in turn the ISPs pay massive bandwidth charges to Rogers, all the while unable to collect from their customers? |

I'm not an employee of Rogers, I have an actual job. |

You should do standup at Yuck Yucks, and let me know which one so I can bill you for the monitor cleaning.
