Rosedale West Virginia has Broadband, but not turned on yet.

Just like the title says. Rosedale West Virginia, Has Fiber ran all the way from Frametown WV to below R&L Store in Rosedale, to a brand spanking new DSLAM. (Seen them installing the hardware on Christmas Eve 2013, and am assuming they are under, or were under a contractual obligation to full fill the Stimulus money requirements)
The Power company has a meter installed and its all up and running. And it is burning the electric as I type.

~BUT~

Frontier is dragging their Bloody feet turning it on.
I have personally have talked to people and do not want to get anyone in trouble.
But at one point I was told it may be on by the end of the month. (This was back in March/April of 2013)
I have been patient, figuring its been this long whats another Month.Since April it is now September. Thats like 5 months folks. (Edit cause I got ahead of myself on the months)
But found out through the Grapevine it is due to Frontier not Mapping the Path from their offices to the DSLAM and that the Hardware is fully Functional.

This is unacceptable.
I have put off writting this here. I want service, have stated in the past I was willing to pay the same amount I pay now (For Hughesnet) to get a Land Based Solution.
It is my hope to maybe spur Frontier into action by posting here, because I know they WILL see it. Enoughs enough.
Mapping this out should not take that long. And I am told that there is connectivity at the DSLAM, that it is not the issue, it is Frontier's Engineers Dragging their Feet.

Are you sure it is for residential service and not part of the BTOP project. That project is for schools and government only if it is.

Positive. Rated at Something like 20 Mbps. Fiber Trunk all the way.
DSLAM the Size of a smaller Pickup.
Sitting across the road from old DSLAM. Ready and Waiting.
Put in with Stimulus Funds when WV got the money they wasted on Routers for $22,000 a pop. (Although thats not Frontier's side of the coin, I do not think, but Silly Politicians.)

Remember I talk to folks. Small area news travels fast.

Frontier is the administrator/operator for that program in WV. Yes and the routers purchased by the State Police had all the wrong interfaces.

I do hope the DSLAM is for your use. It has taken them several months to activate any new circuits in the last few years. I do not see that time period improving any in the immediate future.

I also talk with folks.

Talking with them and beating the brush is the only way to get answer with this sort of thing.

I have also called and talked to User agents/Tech support at Frontier several times.
Still nothing has came to pass.

It is my hope by posting here, maybe it will be noticed by someone at Frontier that cares.

I may move to Reddit also. They have a r/West Virginia board there.

Still nothing. I am gonna start a Thread on r/West Virginia on reddit sometime today I think.
I am also studying the Stimulus Money at »www.recovery.gov/Transparency/Re···Map.aspx
Keywords= Frontier and State.

No single project money breakdown on my little area of West Virginia, but the Stimulus Money was used for Rosedale WV. The money was lumped all together and not divided out "publicly" per area.

I know they were under a deadline to have the Hardware installed by 2013, but dunno about having it turned on. (This is the part I am researching)

I have waited over 5 months, for anything, email or smoke signal etc etc. that would elude to a time frame, And Frontier has said nothing. I am not trying to be a jerk here, but I am tired of waiting.
In this Country the Squeaky Cog gets the grease.
Well......Squeak Squeak Squeak.

Also on the link above, the $25 Million listed is only a fraction of what the big project got. The Department of Commerce (West Virginia) controlled that chunk to Frontier (As I understand it) and was a part of a larger $126 Million lump sum.

Rosedale To

@direcpc.com

I live in Rosedale as well and am wondering about this.

I been communicate with a good tech person and this is what she told me now

---
I received your email. I’ve just left a message for Ms. Shingleton (the General Manager in your area) and also spoke with a local technician. I’m now being told it will be completed in the Fourth Quarter (by the years’ end). I’m awaiting a reply from the GM to get a more accurate answer.

I hope the tech is wrong..

One of the cabinets down on Rosedale Rd, is for the T1 Installation at Faith Mountain, which was done by Frontier for Lumos Networks. It was completed the first of August. I oversaw the installation up at FM, and was told by the Frontier engineers that all of the issues with the Rosedale network being offline lie in the Clarksburg hop, as you stated they can see the Rosedale DSLAM anywhere between Clarkburg and Rosedale but that's where it ends. This was the status as of August 2nd. The T1 installation had a similar issue which was fixed in 2 days.

Its very unfortunate that the only thing keeping Rosedale offline is someone doing alittle work in an office to get the mapping correct. Bottom line is they did all this build out because they received money to do it but they didn't improve the infrastructure to handle all the new connections... because they weren't paid to do that part.
