[DSL] PPP Authentication issues in Calgary

Hi

Is anyone else having problems with PPP authentication in the West?

Yes I get PPP server not found in Leduc. Haven't heard any response from Teksavvy about this either.

Does it say remote peer not responding?

I did try calling but waited on hold for over an hour with no option for callback, had to hang up or I would risk using up all my cell minutes.

No issues here in Taradale(NE Calgary). If it matters I'm on the 25/2 Unlimited profile.

I suspect it is because you are already authenticated. If you reboot your modem it would go down.

Got the same issue DT Calgary, stupidly rebooted modem then cannot connect.

Anybody knows when it will be back on?

Already did also; there seems to be more people same problem out west. Do PPP sessions time out? that well be an issue when it happens.

I'm not a 100% sure if the sessions time out or not.

I checked the logs on my pfsense firewall which handles the pppoe login/handshake and the last entry is from the 22nd and then before that the 14th. Both those dates correspond to firewall reboots. So I don't think they expire or if they do it's a long time period before they do.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

after 2 hours on the phone hold plus "teksupport" finally hung up. Now I'm getting authentication failed even with the test@test test login. side note you really need better phone support reboot reboot reboot. ....

If you're in Calgary then test@test isn't a valid troubleshooting step because that's a Bell login.

Do we have any update on this? From my troubleshooting I suspect the issue is on Telus' side.

looks like PPP authenication is working again. Came up about 15 mins ago.

I've just posted to the Direct forum. Spent about 30 minutes waiting on the phone this morning, then got frustrated and hung up. Same as everyone here, it looks like, I had nothing yesterday, then things straightened out in the evening, and then nothing today.
