[CATV] free channels not free

Noticed this last week under free movies that the channel IFC Free requires you to order it. Called in, no help, tech came out. Apparently you can get the IFC Free if you subscribe to IFC which is not free. ???

Went through several people/supervisors who could not understand my issue with this. Most ridiculous policy I have ever heard of.

It's typical to have to subscribe to the linear channel to access its VOD content.

That applies to ALL channels. If you are paying for the channel, you get the additional content "free".

It's not free for everyone.

Re: [CATV] free channels not free

What the OP was trying to say is the FREE MOVIES category used to be free, whether you subscribed to that particular channel or not (including IFC, Sundance, FX ect.) They were like a teaser to get you to subscribe their main channel. Now that is no longer an option. Maybe it was never supposed to be that way, but it was.

Correct. I believe the change was made fairly recently.
