new iPhones.

iPhone 5S (Speed) and 5C for China, Cheap, or Crap (one or the other).

Boring iOS 7 demonstration including a large portion dedicated to Maps being "better" (hint - it's not).

new iPads, no mini.

Some blurb about finances, dividends, iTunes music store has passed the (generic marker) sales figure.

This year's controversy will be privacy with the fingerprint stored in the Apple cloud. Maybe even able to redeem tickets straight from your Passbook account (since Passbook app is a fail) with a fingerprint.

No laptop, no Mac Pros, and a 10.9 release date.

I have a feeling your dead on, sad but true.. IMO Apple isn't what it use to be.

Also I think iOS7 will push people away, the icons suck.

It'll take a getting used to. I'm ok with flat design... as long as it doesn't look like the easter bunny made out with a paintball gun.

I want stuff to work this time around.

What? Nothing amazing, wonderful, incredible, outstanding or magical?

Whatever it is it'll be their 'best ever.' They really need a new script writer.

Why?
The script works (the proof...they have $130 Billion in the bank)
It might be getting old for those who've seen it a few dozen times, but until you see drastic price cuts on new products (ala HP/Microsoft) they'll go with what's working...IMHO

Tim, in his infinite wisdom, gave a lot of it away to investors and floated a bond (which nose dived in value).

They HAD 130 billion in the bank. Now they have 17 billion liability.

Not going to discuss financing and strategy, but my point is, they're winning the game with the 'same old/same old' sales pitch.

Didn't say they weren't but it's old and boring to me and slightly comical at the same time.

Apple does not really have to shine anything up ... folks are going to buy the next gizmo even if it doesn't serve up anything of true significance. We all know this.

As they like to bury hints in the invites, I think it's obvious (looking to the right of the apple logo) that we're finally getting the gold colored phone [sarcasm]be still my heart!!![/sarcasm].
Seriously, are multicolored phones the big reveal?
Of course, these colors usually are hidden once the user puts the phone beneath a protective case, so no one gets to see the colors anyway, right?

Other than that, I wonder the emphasis specific mention on "brighten". (maybe their borrowing from Clorox, making the phones "whiter and brighter".

If those are the colours, then there's no black one.

iPhone 5(C=Color)

I think it's a good move, have a discount phone, to compete with the Nexus 4.

Speck sells tons of black cases...and if there's no black phones, I'll buy a black case

No way would they not offer a black iPhone. Too many enterprise users now.

For the "C", Cheap" iPhone they won't have black, however for the 5S they will have black.

I though the colour display in the ad was simply due to the colour scheme of iOS 7.

I'm biased ,i have a Nexus 4, and it's head and tails above much of the competition, in terms of quality of design.

If it's truly a 5S and not a 6 , it's just about over for Apple. They can't continue providing evolutionary phones, the market is moving to fast.

If they want to truly shake up the market, make an Iphone 6 to what the 3G was, a truly revolutionary phone.

Keeping the sameo sameo, with a processor update is not going to placate the market.

I have to agree with that... I think Apple is thinking, We will go with the Cheap iPhone and people will go crazy for that. However I think Apple will be in a surprise if they don't release a iPhone 6. Sad to say it will be a 5S, I think.

I'm saying with less than 2 million in sales (iPhone & Galaxy Phones do that in hours upon release) it's a non factor. Only Android geeks & developers are even aware of the Nexus series. I have one and liked it, still came back to my iPhone 5.

Apple has no choice but to offer a discount phone, but it's unlikely to be available in North America.

China Mobile knows to core an Apple.

Does this mean we will have people in line at the Apple stores in China buying up phones to ship back to the US?
