Moving to Suddenlink area, have a question about website

I'm moving to Lucas, TX which is serviced by Suddenlink and FIOS. I'm reviewing my options on Suddenlink's website for available services and it seems like their website isn't that well put together. They advertise for 105Mb services are generally available, but when I punch in my address it only shows 30Mb max. And I can only get that speed when I do a dual-play bundle. If I select internet only it shows 15mb max. Also a triple play package shows the max I can get is 15Mb. If this sounds inconsistent, well that's what it is, lol.

I haven't taken the time to call them yet, but was just curious if my website experience coincides with what others have run into. Seems like it's half baked. I probably will go with FIOS anyways due to lower cost, but I'm trying to weigh my options. No 250Gig cap on internet is nice too.

Thanks all!

If FIOS is really available to you, why on earth would you even be looking at cable providers?

I agree, especially on the internet side. You just can't beat having a solid fiber connection for your services!

Because competition is good If I can get a deal from them I can use it to fight for a better price with FIOS.

But in honesty, I've had 150Mb service and didn't use it. I'm at 75/35 right now and still barely use it.

Just weighing my options... I'm not dead set on FIOS TV, merely the internet service.

Suddenlink has always gone out of their way to resolve any issues that I have had with them. I am very pleased with them. Now, having said that, if I had a choice between FIOS and Suddenlink (unless they offered fiber here), I would choose FIOS. Cable is going to be an inferior product when comparing it to FIOS.

About the speed thing showing what's available in the area, not all Suddenlink areas might have all speeds available to them. This area didn't have Max 107 and then one day it did. I guess it depends on your location and where they are in their upgrades. That area might not have gotten upgraded yet.

You can also have a chat with a Suddenlink rep rather than over the phone as well. »www.suddenlink.com/contact-us/ Their Live Chat is usually a help too.

I would drop Suddenlink like a hot rock if FIOS were available here. FIOS gives you fast download AND upload speeds and you don't have to worry about caps (well, unless you're that joker that is uploading 77TB of "Linux distros" every month. Yeah, that's Terabytes, with a T.)

The website primarily shows 'deals' available to you. There are more services available to you if you call in or chat online. You can also ask the previous tenant about what they had.

To chime in on fiber vs cable, both products offer more bandwidth and speed than I'm currently using. The major deciding factor if I had both available would be latency to my online services. I'd simply chose which one was routing better. But even that is variable as outside of your ISP network, paths can change and you'd have to control to effect them. So if all other features are the same, it'd just come down to price. IS ftth a better tech than cable, hard to say depending on the view point, but I find that impossible to answer when both products deliver a surplus beyond what you use.

((That said, I do wish SL would increase upload speed, so Fios would probably win out in my choice currently))

I wish I was posting to complain that my 75/35 isn't fast enough on this forum, just like I was just saying 50/3 isn't the best in the world.

Maybe some day...

Yes in person you can get options not available online.

But if just internet cheaper no cap.
Why even bother coming on here and asking.
No brainer there.

I have to pay more to not have the threat of a cap and run servers.
When I say I need x and pay for 20Mbits symmetrical I better be allowed to use it 24*7*52wks at full throttle and that's what I get.
Parents on the other hand believe the same thing just are old fashioned when it comes to internet, Hotmail basic browsing, and lately steaming which may become an issue.
Yes I am those idiots that upload/download Terrabytes of data with a couple servers and ISO's up the ass including 360k images, to a list of friends and I have made more than a couple from my BBS days when clovis had no internet.
If I exponentialised my users and wasn't afraid of the exponential trouble Id get faster but I don't charge my users and they are satisfied with the limit. When I have problems with my network/users I will bond the 2nd account and increase it from the 5Mbit I keep for myself yes I download from my own servers through that connection vs opening the closet door.
Even got into a lawsuit over my unlimited Verizon wireless data plan when I hit just shy of a TB over 4G and red flagged me to throttle list when it was unnecessary for them to throttle me when the same tower was doing fine for my other 4g phone regularly since then its been around 400 gigs.
