Ok, so 2 people didn't show up for last nights raid. We decided to pug it anyways, took 2 hours to find 2 players that were above 499. One kid said they had heroic ToT experience, turned out they thought LFR was reg and reg was heroic. He was either messing with us or english was his second language. They had only done LFR to this point, with 2 pugs in reg ToT. Not a big deal, but if there was something to not stand in they would be right in the middle of it. After wiping on the first boss for 2 hours we decided to call it. The other pug demanded we give them gold for their repair bills and flasks since it was an utter waste of their time. That is when my GL finally lost it and fired everyone. Thanks 5.4 |

My plan was to start Flex Raiding in my guild once 5.4 hit, but due to Connected Realms not being available at launch the already unlikely plan is now a complete no go.
Instead I plan on pugging Flex initially whilst trying to make contacts on my server / group when Connected does finally launch. Then recruit like mad to try and get Flex done as a guild, but 100% depends on how quick the Connected launches.
I was then going to try to start normal raids, but it really won't happen in 5.4 unless we get very very lucky. |

 | said by DarkLogix:You know you can do flex via RealID/BattleTag ie look to OQ I do, but I wanted to do it with my own guild and then push to normals if we were good enough. I'm going to OQ it now Connected realms are not happening from launch day, and whilst I will make friends, it will be nice to work towards something as a local community. |

How about someone list off the bosses
and maybe start posting strat ideas? I'm sure people in the ptr have come up with ideas -- semper idem 1KTzRMxN1a2ATrtAAvbmEnMBoY3E2kHtyv |

I don't envy you Immer, think of all the comments you'll hear.
"I downed Immer" "Immer one shot me!" "We keep wiping on Immer" "Immer sucks" "Immer gave me his purple head"
etc etc. |

Another strong reason for flex raiding; I *shudder* at the thought of having to do FOUR bosses in LFRs. The time commitment already needed for three feels like too much.
I do think that being able to queue for multiple LFRs at once like dungeons is going to be a very nice quality of life upgrade. -- Absolution -- 6/6 MSV, 4/6 HoF, 4/4 ToES, 11/12 ToT Pride and Ego -- 6/6 MSV 1/6H, 6/6 HoF, 4/4 ToES, 9/12 ToT |

Carpie join:2012-10-19 united state kudos:2 | My initial mindset was to not pay too much attention to LFRs because I could use Flex to substitute for them.
Then I remembered I have alts...
So LFR will still likely be a big part of my week regardless. -- Absolution -- 6/6 MSV, 4/6 HoF, 4/4 ToES, 11/12 ToT Pride and Ego -- 6/6 MSV 1/6H, 6/6 HoF, 4/4 ToES, 9/12 ToT |

Yeah... I haven't done an LFR in probably almost 2 months but even then doing Lei Shen was a joke. Standing around for 15 minutes, 27 ready checks. Someone finally pulls. Tanks the boss away from the pillar, lighting roasts the raid after 20 seconds of healers healing their asses off and 15 people screaming in raid chat to "Tank the fucking boss next to the pillar, retard!!"
I will NEVER, EVER do LFR again. It's not good for my health. |
|
 | and even when you finally manage to drum into the tanks to tank next to the pillar, they run into the destroyed section in the second phase. |

I'm going to check out strats for the first 4 bosses over the weekend in hopes for a flex spot, failing that LFR the week after.
Hopefully after the first week Icy Veins will have some detailed guides I can print off and pore over whilst "sitting on my throne". I used to get the guide for everyone as I like knowing all parts of the fights. Even though I have no intention of tanking, it's good to know when a tank swap should happen, where they should be standing and when they are going to be getting a load of unavoidable damage. |

Had a spare 5 mins at lunch so I copy/pasted Icy Veins' guides for the first 2 tiers of Siege of Orgrimmar into a Word document.
»docs.google.com/file/d/1DFNiyKRO···=sharing
If anyone wants it.
I removed the Loot lists to save space but it still clocks in at 43 pages and there's still 6 bosses to come! Icy Veins do have the tactics for boss 9 up too, but I will do that in tier 3/4. |

Carpie join:2012-10-19 united state kudos:2 | You rock. Thanks! |
|
 | said by Carpie:You rock. Thanks! Glad you make use of it. I used to do this for all raids, print them out, then try to learn the tactics before actually stepping into a raid.
I found there is absolutley no substitute for actually doing the ancounters but it's always nice to know what you, and everyone else is meant to be doing. |
|
Carpie join:2012-10-19 united state kudos:2 | First boss should be easy and the strat is pretty straight forward. The second boss I don't think is going to be overly problematic either, but good lord, the abilities to have to deal with...
16 different abilities to know and deal with throughout the fight and having to keep all three bosses alive until the very end and kill them within 10 seconds of one another.... ouch. Way too much for my little mind. -- Absolution -- 6/6 MSV, 4/6 HoF, 4/4 ToES, 11/12 ToT Pride and Ego -- 6/6 MSV 1/6H, 6/6 HoF, 4/4 ToES, 9/12 ToT |

DarkLogixTexan and ProudPremium join:2008-10-23 Baytown, TX kudos:3 | Can you summarize the strats? |
|
 | said by DarkLogix:Can you summarize the strats? I'll look to do it but without actually doing the bosses myself first, it makes it tricky.
Immerseus looks as simple as:
P1 - Nuke P2 - Kill/Heal adds
Repeat until corruption is 0.
Whether or not it actually is that simple, I won't know until reading the indepth parts of the guide and trying it out. |
