Re: [Internet] Bell fibe 25/10 sagecome sync no surf issue said by btech805:theres a firmware update coming in October to deal with the fibe tv guide and a few other things, maybe this will get resolved
I'm curious but where did you hear a new firmware is coming to I'm assuming Fibe receivers? |
|
 | Im a bell (bts) tech. There's 2 updates, one for the sagecom and another for the receivers, the main update most would notice is the guide will have the channels you dont subscribe to coloured differently, which has been a major complaint.
Again late October is when its planned but you all arent supposed to know about it so shhhh! Issues do arise with these types of things but we've been assured it will be rolled out platform wide before the new year, as the updates are usually gradually rolled out |

OK it was confirmed I am still on the iptv profile (v26944-26944_8128-1600_42412 ) but I am still having the sync no surf issue
is there anything else we can try? |

 | Hopefully your line repair will fix this... |

I don't get it... apparently these modems didn't have the "no surf" issue until a firmware update and it screwed the modem up.... now it's taking Bell forever to fix this issue?
Good lord. :\ |
|
 | The problem is it isnt affecting everyone, so we are unaware of why it is affecting certain customers and not others, but again in a forum like this where people come for answers the problems get magnified. Brosio is on an oslam, not a 7330, and that seems to be the issue with some of the sync no surf issues |

Ask them to place you on a profile with 62412 instead of 42412. |

are you still having the 'no surf' issue? mine isn't going away. they change my profile to iptv and a week or two later the problem comes back. this problem has been on and off for almost 3 months. |
|
 | I had an idea pop into my head this morning on a possible solution, and Brosio is going to be the guinea pig for it, and see if it solves anything, and if he doesn't have to reboot his modem for a few days then I'll let you in on the secret |
|
 | I'm following closely. I'm finally free of rogers and approaching first world internet speeds. The sync no surf issue is apparently the final hurdle to overcome. |
|
 | apparently after a call to bell i think the 'no surf' issue has been solved. i've been running bittorrent continuously for the last 20 minutes. i've never been able to do this before.
the bell tech didnt say what he did to my profile but said that he made modifications to the router settings. he had to escalate this problem to a higher level to get it fixed. |

well the issue is still happening to me. tmpusr1, i am curious what your solution was to fix the issue? |
|
 | i have to ask brosio is a router involved. does the bell equipment have all the right lights on ? if a routre is involved it is most likely an issue on your side and not somethinng your isp is going to give you help with |

It's something that isnt affecting everyone but it has been definitely a problem that we haven't found a solution for or a cause of it. I recently was doing a tv installation and lost channels and surf while standing right in front of the sagecom that showed hpna, sync and surf lights on. I swapped out the modem and havent heard anything since. A few weeks ago I posted that several new installations were stalled due to a sync no surf issue, and ssince then we've found simply deleting the 35 vlan and readding it in fixes it so maybe that can help some folks here but it hasnt been tried with existing customers... |

Well, i can tell you this much, this problem didn't exist originally with the Sagemcoms... It was introduced at some point last year in a firmware update...
And users can't delete or readd the VLANs... --

|
 | Users can't, but us techs can, I just mentioned it was something we tried the a few weeks ago when we were having problems across the board with installs and it seemed to work... -- My opinions are my own and do not represent the opinions or wishes of BCE or any of it's subsidiaries. |
