Telus → [Mobility] Calls from numbers that are out of service

I keep getting calls from numbers that are either out of service or when I call back, the person has no clue wtf I'm talking about.

604 819 21xx
604 819 05xx
604 819 34xx
604 819 92xx

Whats going on?

You know that any number can be spoofed, right? They are fakes! They could use all zeros or the number of the White House but in this case they are just making up numbers with an area code that makes them look real to fool you.
Why are you calling back wrong numbers anyway?

well they are all missed calls.

It's called CallerID spoofing or someone is calling you from an Multiline PBX. The ID you are seeing is their extension. They can not receive call directly to their extension.

I JUST received a call from 101. Got another this AM from, 0112127731546. My solution set is, if I don't know the number, it doesn't get answered. If its legit, they'll leave a VM.

How can the nice foreign gentlemen lead you to your inheritance if you won't answer the call? You'll miss out on the free cruise, too, and don't forget the duct cleaning special in your area.
