Re: Official 5.4 SoO Raid release Schedule said by cat666:You're lucky in that you get to raid, This is one of those bitter sweet situations. My felt obligation to do LFR is to support raiding. If I didn't raid, I really wouldn't care so much about the gear upgrades and wouldn't do it. Since I raid though, I can't feel like I'm holding back the progress of the group and have to push myself to get geared up (especially since the toons are now the lowest ilvls of both of the raid groups since I switched mains on Eredar).
And I can in 120% all honesty say... if I didn't raid I would not be playing the game any longer. The game itself isn't what keeps me continuing to login (in fact in 5.4 I feel like it's failed if you take the new raid out of the equation); it's the great people and online friendships made through raiding. -- Absolution -- MSV: 6/6 0/6H -- HoF: 4/6 -- ToES: 4/4 -- ToT: 12/12 -- SoO: 4/14F 2/14 Pride and Ego -- MSV: 6/6 1/6H -- HoF: 6/6 -- ToES: 4/4 -- ToT: 11/12 -- SoO: 3/14F */14 |

I agree with this. I'm really struggling to get excited about WoW currently as all the non-raiding content is just meh. |

I'm with Carpie. If it wasn't for raiding, I wouldn't be playing anymore. Can't wait to get back and experience SoO for myself. Anyone in search of an experienced raiding hunter? Prefebly horde, but for the guild atmosphere, I might be talked into switch to ally. |

Even Mists has had some rep grinds, some scenarios and pet battles, the issue is just there is little reason to do them now. Some new 5 man content would have been good. |

Noiche join:2013-06-17 Panama City, FL | After having every rep at exalted except Firelands and MoP ones, the rep grinds are far down my list of notable things to do, but I do understand your point.
Wintergrasp was the 1 and only zone-wide PVP battle that I actually enjoyed. Tol Barad didn't hit it for me, possibly cause of the changed that came with Cata and the massive stat/hp jumps that made PVP a nightmare in my eyes.
I do miss 5mans actually having a purpose and place in the way of things. It's now nothing but a gear stop, and a very small one at that. I was raid ready (meaning ilvl 463) within a few hours of hitting 90.
Quite honestly, I don't have a good answer for this. All I know is that the game feels completely off when I'm not actively participating in a raid. I just want to log off and play something else, which is what I do now. |

Has anyone done LFR wing 2 yet? How does it compare to LFR-1 in terms of difficulty? |

Did it last night on rogue. first 2 bosses were one shots and quite easy. last 2 were issues, the 3rd boss was was downed after wiping 3 times on them. Last boss seems difficult to most LFRers but the mechanics are quite simple and when folks calmed down after 2nd wipe and payed attention it was np.
So to answer your question, I feel like people will probably bitch about the last 2 for a while (see Durumu). |
|
 | Thanks a lot. I'll go for Wing 1 tonight I think.
Sometimes bosses seem harder than they actually are the first few times. Horridon for example is a piece of cake on LFR once you get people to handle adds and burn the Warlord that is. Without that it was wipe after wipe. Same with Lei Shen, piece of cake, as long tactics were followed.
Durumu was a pain as the maze simply wasn't clear, I'm a good player but I died 50% of the time as I honestly couldn't see the path. Whether it was my graphics settings or what not I dunno, but I had to get someone to mark themselves so I could follow them as I had no clue. Luckily as lock I SS'd myself beforehand and as a shammy I could ressurect. The only other tricky boss in ToT LFR was Dark Animus which was a headless chicken pull until all the large ones died in LFR. |

I can't speak to how the bosses compare in terms of difficulty on LFR. And I'm not sure many could unless they are going with the same group of people. The randomness of group composition (competency-wise) for LFR significantly determines how hard/easy the fight is.
The feedback I've got from some groups on the Flex side (where they've been with the same group) is that the 2nd wing was pretty easy. Similar comments to what Skittles has offered. So from a pure fight/boss standpoint, I would say the same applies to LFR.
My own personal experience is that finding a competent LFR group is extremely difficult, regardless of the fights. I did get fairly lucky on my first zone into wing one on Tuesday night. Started at Norushen (unfortunately) but we downed him and Sha without too much trouble. 30 min later my queue for wing 2 finally popped and in I go to the Shamans with one stack of determination on them already. This group represented my more common experience. After our 6th wipe, adding the 7th stack of determination, it was almost midnight and I said the hell with it and went to bed.
Last night, about an hour before our raid time, my LFR queue popped (had actually forgotten I had even queued). I thought maybe I'd be lucky enough to go in and at least get one boss down. Popped in and people were killing trash before the towers. There was a warrior and a pally who each were doing over a mil dps on the trash fights. Thought that was a pretty good sign. Yet... we still wiped. And I exited instance. -- Absolution -- MSV: 6/6 0/6H -- HoF: 4/6 -- ToES: 4/4 -- ToT: 12/12 -- SoO: 4/14F 2/14 Pride and Ego -- MSV: 6/6 1/6H -- HoF: 6/6 -- ToES: 4/4 -- ToT: 11/12 -- SoO: 3/14F */14 |
