[DSL] TP-Link 8616 + Linksys WRT54GL how to configure?

Hello. I've recently signed up for 15/1 DSL service with Teksavvy.

I'm using TP-Link 8816 as my modem & Linksys WRT54GL as my wireless router.

When I hook my computer on with TP-Link 8816 internet works just fine after doing a quick wizard setup within the modem (I set it up as PPPoE with ID & Pass provided by Teksavvy VPI 0 VCI 35).

But when I hook up my wireless router with the modem, I'm not getting any internet. The internet light blinks on my wireless router but nothing on my computer. I went into 192.168.1.1 and put it as Automatic/DHCP. What am I doing wrong? I have recently updated the firmware on my wireless router via Linksys website.

Thank you!!

The 8816 is a modem/router combo.

What you want to do is put it in bridge mode, which turns off the router capabilities, then use your WRT54GL. You will need to change your WRT54GL settings to PPPoE and enter the username and password from Teksavvy so your WRT54GL does the PPPoE. "Automatic/DHCP" is for cable connections.

I've picked on Cogeco long enough. Who's next? Any volunteers?
