 | [Troubleshooting] removing back cover from Samsung Galaxy S3 The user manual says to remove the back cover to change the battery or SIM card. I thought it would easily come off but it doesn't. I put my fingernail in the slot at the top and pulled but the cover stayed on. Is there a trick to get the cover off? I hope I don't have to use a tool. Thanks for your responses. |

It comes off really easy... not sure why you can't get yours off. |

Thanks for the information. I will pull harder. I was just afraid I would break the 2 weeks old phone. The ifixit website says to use a tool to safely remove the back cover. Just being cautious after reading that. Thanks again. |

Just use the cover opening at the top and work a fingernail around the perimeter of the phone. Once you get enough of it released the cover pops off without a problem.
I've pulled the cover off of my S3 plenty of times! |

Remember removing the cover from any electronic device may allow all of the bugs to escape! |
