DF @mycingular.net | [Internet] Frontier communications wireless is the worst service Frontier Communications wireless has been by far my worst Internet experience. I have had three Internet services in over six states and although I read horrible reviews about Frontier, I decided to give it a shot. I regret the moment I decided to switch from Comcast to this mediocre compromise for an Internet service. I have been without Internet for the last four days. And there is still absolutely no sign of it working. I've had several and I cannot stress more, but several conversations with the customer service executive and there hasn't been any change in my Internet status. Every time I call, I have to do the same drill. It is not just frustrating, it's extremely exhausting and annoying. Please don't get Frontier Communication wireless. It not worth the money saved! |

DF, I can understand why Frontier Communications wireless frustrates you, since Frontier does not sell a wireless product! |

Maybe someone from Frontier could comment. |

I'd be abhorred at the idea of Frontier running a wireless network. Call Failed... Call Failed... Call Failed... |

Hmm. That seems like mobile data service in this area! |

It's a "pay as you go" system of WiFi hotspots with city-wide coverage in a few markets.

| No Frontier Wi-Fi within 1 hour of me, so I had never heard of it
Another great example of how Frontier ignores one of their biggest metro markets in Illinois, the Peoria suburbs of Morton/Washington/Dunlap/North Peoria/Chillicothe. Total potential customer base in those towns/rural areas of 50K+. |

DampierPhillip M Dampier join:2003-03-23 Rochester, NY | Yes this refers to Frontier's Wi-Fi hotspots in select cities. We have several in Rochester and they perform poorly, when they are working. Their speed is terrible, and the handful of free hotspots they operate are in the middle of parking lots, soccer fields, etc., have less coverage than their paid service, and is speed throttled to boot. It's like not having Wi-Fi at all, and they want $10 a month for this, unless you convince them to bundle it for free with DSL.
I don't even bother with them and rely on my Verizon unlimited 4G hotspot/wireless Internet if I need connectivity.
If you don't have Frontier Wi-Fi, you are not missing anything, trust me. -- Phillip M. Dampier Editor, Stop the Cap! »stopthecap.com |

 | I concur - get a 4G hotspot and use that - works even where Frontier doesn't. |
