How about that goal by BR6 last night? In and out so fast the goal light never went on, the PxP guys thought it was off the post, but the ref down low had his arm up to signal a goal. It's only pre-season, but 9MM/JSpez/BR6 looked pretty good, and EK65 is much more his old self than he was in the spring. The big line aren't playing tonight in Saskatoon. -- All of us get lost in the darkness, dreamers learn to steer by the stars All of us do time in the gutter, dreamers turn to look at the cars - Peart / Lifeson / Lee Join Team Helix
Sens win 4-2 over Calgary last night... no TV but by the sounds of the radio feed, Calgary was gooning it up
Here are highlights from Sportsnet with video from Global Saskatoon

Sens had a 1-0 lead well into the 2nd... for some reason Pageau got a double minor and Clarkson got an unsportsman like .. but Kadri who was scuffling with and punching Pageau got nothing?????
Kadri scored to tie it.. then another leaf scored a few minutes later (I forget who)
In the final minute of the period Petersson backhands it into the Leaf goal -- "The hardest thing about any political campaign is how to win without proving that you are unworthy of winning." ~ Adlai E. Stevenson
Michalek and Anderson both missing from today's practice
Hopefully it is not Michalek's knee.. as for Anderson, I dont want him to be injured but I am confident in Lehner -- "The hardest thing about any political campaign is how to win without proving that you are unworthy of winning." ~ Adlai E. Stevenson
ESPN Ranks the Sens as the top Canadian professional sports team, in what appears to be a ranking for overall fan experience. The ranking is based on affordability, bang for the buck, coaching, fan relations, ownership, players, stadium experience and title track.
They were 3rd in the NHL, and 9th overall among the 122 NHL, NFL, NBA and MLB teams ranked.
I was really happy to hear the coach say that on the radio about 15 minutes ago. He also said "we all know what we are going to get from these guys.....they don't need to be on the ice every day". Wise words and actions -- maintain your assets, especially since the season hasn't even started yet and there are five games in the next seven days with TOR, B2B vs MTL and ending with a with a doubleheader vs NYI with one game in OTT and one in Owen Sound. -- All of us get lost in the darkness, dreamers learn to steer by the stars All of us do time in the gutter, dreamers turn to look at the cars - Peart / Lifeson / Lee Join Team Helix
Expected lines / combos for tonight's pre-season game vs TML:
MacArthur - Turris - Stone Greening - Da Costa - Petersson Dziurzynski - Smith - Neil Cowick - O'Brien- Robinson
Cowen - Wiercioch Borowiecki - Ceci Sdao - Corvo
Lehner in goal.
There isn't nearly the top-talent firepower in this lineup that the Leafs are putting on the ice, so it'll be a chance for Bingo-bound players to show why they deserve a call up or belong up here instead of going down. -- All of us get lost in the darkness, dreamers learn to steer by the stars All of us do time in the gutter, dreamers turn to look at the cars - Peart / Lifeson / Lee Join Team Helix
Borocop and Ceci could end up being the top pairing in Bingo (Rutkowski and Sdao / Claesson would be the 2nd I would think), so they'll get to play together tonight.
There are 20 scouts in the ACC tonight, from 17 teams, so I wouldn't be surprised if there are teams looking at O'Brien, Da Costa and possibly others. Edmonton is going to need a centre and possibly another player for a while. -- All of us get lost in the darkness, dreamers learn to steer by the stars All of us do time in the gutter, dreamers turn to look at the cars - Peart / Lifeson / Lee Join Team Helix
Yeah I would think Ottawa is tryng to unload a forward or two. We have an abundance of guys that could do the role Obrien and DaCosta do -- "The hardest thing about any political campaign is how to win without proving that you are unworthy of winning." ~ Adlai E. Stevenson
It's now 3-2, past the mid-point of the 3rd period. I didn't expect the game to be this close, and some of the Bingo guys are looking really good. Stone is making a strong case for him staying, and Cowick looks like he could be a bottom 6 guy with lots of defensive upside as well as grit. Greening and Wiercioch are looking great too. -- All of us get lost in the darkness, dreamers learn to steer by the stars All of us do time in the gutter, dreamers turn to look at the cars - Peart / Lifeson / Lee Join Team Helix
yup, good game by the Sens...they were the better team, but it was a close score...Reimer made some big saves to keep the score tight and make a game out of it.
Reimer played very well, as he often does against the Senators (I believe he is now 8-2-1). If he hadn't made about a half-dozen big saves in the first period, the game would have been over before it was 20 minutes old. It's games like this that make me wonder what Nonis was thinking when he decided to go and get Bernier, as I can't see how it's going to be an improvement on what they already have, and Carlyle declaring that it will be win-and-you're-in is a disaster in the making and any Ottawa Senators fan will tell you that.
It was tried with all these tandems, and it hurt every one of the players to one level or another. -- All of us get lost in the darkness, dreamers learn to steer by the stars All of us do time in the gutter, dreamers turn to look at the cars - Peart / Lifeson / Lee Join Team Helix
@SunGarrioch Senators have placed C Jim O'Brien on waivers. #Sens
Bruce Garrioch @SunGarrioch 4m Cowick, Ecford and Lawson also waived by #Sens -- "The hardest thing about any political campaign is how to win without proving that you are unworthy of winning." ~ Adlai E. Stevenson
He hasn't had a particularly stellar pre-season and he doesn't need to clear waivers, so while it might be shocking to some it's a shrewd business move to get him more ice time than he'd have here and a good kick in the backside to smarten up and play hockey rather than trying to be a nightclub DJ too. -- All of us get lost in the darkness, dreamers learn to steer by the stars All of us do time in the gutter, dreamers turn to look at the cars - Peart / Lifeson / Lee Join Team Helix

Yeah he has been pretty underwhelming in preseason. I think a few weeks in the AHL will remind him of the work required. He will be back up before December IMO
