Digging the map thats for sure, it does seem a little to much like BF3. But as its been stated, not sure what else they could really add to make it 'that' much more different.

Needless to say I'm having a blast playing it. The new weapon configuration and mod system is pretty bad ass. I was having more fun on the smaller infantry only maps which was surprising as I've usually sided with the vehicle stuff.

I hope they add more maps into the beta or more unlocks. Runs decently, only problem I have is minimizing. No matter if I set it to window mode or not if I alt+tab out I get a directx error. Other than that I can run it on high/ultra with my 660ti without a hitch. Had one ginormous FPS drop in a server but everyone started complaining about it so sided that with a server side issue.

Looking forward to release.

Installed and played 4 rounds last night, 800 ticket conquest, Shanghai map.

So far the graphics are slightly improved over BF3 (friend said it looks much better, but I don't see the huge differenece). Running at Ultra setting, which set most items at high at 1900x1200 with a 7970 and it was running fairly smooth. I did see some texture/graphical glitches, but overall it was pretty good.

The map provided is fairly large for a 5 point conquest map, but I think what made it feel even bigger was people getting transported up to the roofs of the skyscrapers to snipe... so many snipers. Elevators in some of the taller buildings (specifically at nodes) is nice to make the combat more varied. It also helps to defend against armor that rolls up, as make of them can't shoot high enough if they are close to the node.

I enjoy it, and will prob wind up getting it.

Definitely must be battlefield if it's polluted with snipers without a SOFLAM, a mobile spawn point that isn't for themselves, or a MAV/T-UGS

There are so many motherfuckers camping, it aint even funny.

Dudes hiding on top of buildings, laying down on the ground. You name it.

I thought people move around the map? I guess not.

So be an explosives/LMG spamming bitch and blast them out. Or armored vehicles. That's what I love about Battlefield, so many counters to the various annoying play styles people have.

knifing snipers is fun

I got my email last night. I'll have to unlock my Origin account and start downloading.

Ground armor is little help for the roof campers... now the heli with twin gatlings guns cleans them up. Half my kills last night were from being in the heli mowing roof campers down.

I agree about the roof campers. As soon as you jump in a tank, someone on a roof is going to take you out with an RPG.

I jumped in a helicopter last night. My god, the city scape from up above is absolutely gorgeous.

I also feel like a suck so hard at this game. I think my best game was 9 kills/11 deaths. I need practice

No but there is not much you can do about it, save back way up to try and him them with the main weapon. These are some pretty tall buildings though 10-20 stories high or more that people get dropped on by helicopters.

The different levels of fighting is pretty awesome.

For those of us who have not been invited into the BF4 beta quite yet-- including myself(being patient this go 'round). I wanted to give those people without access yet a big heads up!

If you did not qualify for early access into the Battlefield 4 beta then worry not... the rest of you will be able to download and begin playing for yourselves tomorrow October 4th, 2013.

Furthermore, it's also equally important to make note that the beta will conclude on October 15th. So, that means you'll have exactly 10 days to play as much as you can before the beta testing ends and everyone will no longer be granted access. Atleast for the next few weeks before official release. During these last weeks DICE will be compiling terabytes and terabytes of important data gathered during beta testing. This will go towards making improvements & concerns such as fixing bugs, optimizations, fine-tuning, as well as balance details for the release version of Battlefield 4.

UPDATE: This post is made even more helpful by letting you guys know the beta is scheduled to be open around 2AM-6AM PDT. For you East coast people, that means to be on the look out between 5AM-9AM EST.

Is it available for you guys yet? There's no beta or any download option showing up for me in Origin.

Been playing it a bit. Like all betas, you will get slaughtered as a newbie. Domination is a lot more fun than Conquest. Much faster turnover and matches. Graphics are obviously turned down to make broad-based play work.

The more I play this map, the more I like it. I'm starting to get the hang of things. Where to go, when to hide, what weapons to use at what points. I got my ass handed to me the first few hours though.

Damage does seem glitchy and wierd. At times, I can unload nearly a full magazine into a guy and he won't drop. Other times, 2 shots and an opponent goes down. It's the other way around with me too. I can run half way across an area and take a bunch of rounds and still be fine, other times, a guy drops me with 2 shots.

From what I've read, people say the graphics are toned down a lot in Beta. Is this true? There are people on Youtube and some forums sayging BF3 was that way. After the game fully released after Beta, graphics were unbelievable at that point.

AAAAH MAN I MISS BF2142!!!

I just tried playing my first game of the BF4 beta. And it ran like complete crap. I tried setting the graphics settings to Auto, High, Medium but it was still a no go. It just ran terribly.

After doing some research, I'm going to try out the newest Nvidia beta drivers 331.40, which are apparently made for BF4 play. I'll give those a try and see if it clears up the problem.

BF4 is basically unplayable like this right now.

AMD paid $5M for the rights to the advance code and developers.
