G4 going away on 10/10/13

Effective Thursday, October 10, 2013, NBC Universal will cease to air G4 in both standard definition and high definition. G4 is geared primarily toward young male adult viewers and originally focused on the world of video games, before transitioning to a more general entertainment format.

Scratch that:

In a surprise reversal of fortunes, the forthcoming Esquire Network will take the place of Style Network when it debuts this month instead of G4, as was long planned.

But G4 is still going off the air.

Effective Monday, September 23, 2013, the Style Network will be rebranded to the Esquire Network. The Esquire Network channel will cater to a metro- sexual audience with life style programming related to travel, cooking, and fashion. Additionally, effective Wednesday, October 23, 2013 the Esquire Network will be relocated from channel 176 to channel 64 in all areas in Connecticut.

if your a fan of the screen savers, you can try a site called revision3.com, and look for a show called "Tekzilla" .. it runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays and has former screen savers Patrick Norton and Robert Heron .. it has a similar taste to the screen savers , its just not a live show, its pretaped, but they still take questions via email and twitter to answer, and do product reviews.. show usually run 25-40 mins.. thats as close as youll get to classic screen savers at this point.. and fyi.. patrick lost his hair lol

it would be funny if discovery buys G4, and puts programs from rev3 on that channel.. now that would be funny.

The original notice still stands. Saw on the Guide Channel that it's being removed on the 10th.
