 | [Scam] Localize spot : scam agency I'd like to draw everybody's attention on new scam agency "Localize spot"(»localizespot.com/), i worked for them on three different projects (total amounting more than 3000$), they were very satisfied by the quality of my work, but after delivering the jobs, they refused to pay me pretending that my quality work was low!!!!, but our correspondence with them showed clearly that they were even impressed with the work done (they even offered me a new project to work on!!!). I emailed them hundred times, but with every email, they come up with tens of ridiculous excuses in order not to pay me. For this reason, i want to prevent other translators from dealing with them. |

| I thought the OP articulated quite well. 1. The problem (non payment for services rendered) 2. The alleged company involved (»localizespot.com/) 3. The purpose of the complaint (Giving a heads up to anyone vetting the company)
Beyond the outline, they included info to support their position (...they even offered me a new project to work on!!!) Including the amount allegedly owed was an important detail too ($3K+) in that it's not a small amount of money & has me wondering if it's a matter offering a large payment schedule knowing that it won't be paid anyway (read to good to be true).
Toss in the obvious fact that English is a second language to the OP but still managed to write a decently constructed post tends to point to someone that would have acceptable translation services.
Where's Jim Leavingworth when we need him? |

sounds like someone pissed off that the services rendered was not up to the specifications in the contract and got rejected. recommendations ? 1) get all the relevant paperwork 2) get a lawyer 3) go to small claims court -- Suffolk County NY Police Feed - »www.scpdny.com PS3 Gaming Feed - »www.livestream.com/elitedata |

That is often not a viable option & not an option here. The whois for localizespot.com all but eliminates touching them for anything, especially a $3K debt. A company that isn't even willing to disclose who they are is a red flag that shouldn't ever be overlooked by anyone considering doing business with them.

The more info I see, the more bogus it all looks.
First phone number is Slayton, MN. Fax number looks like Peru, not Panama.
EDIT: Hmm... Google the Peruvian number... |

Doing international business on your own is at your own risk and peril. Sorry you got burned but you clearly did not sufficiently vet them in the first place. Hopefully others will see your warning and not get screwed.
For any individual or small business considering doing do business with an entity they cannot have a sitdown at their office located near you, be very cautious. And, if you're dealing with overseas, you really, really need to have a lawyer with specific international expertise in your type of business advising you before you commit to any project. If you can't afford that, you certainly can't afford getting stuck holding the bag if things go south. -- "Dance like the photo isn't being tagged; love like you've never been unfriended; and tweet like nobody is following." |
