50Mb package getting 3Mb - 10Mb down in Sherman, Tx
Two days ago I upgraded my package from 10Mb to 50Mb and after doing so, I haven't been able to get anything higher than 10Mb on my speed tests. I already had the motorola surfboard sbg6580 but it was swapped the day of the speed upgrade. I worked w/ tech support yesterday and they said there was in issue in Sherman impacting the download speeds (upload is just fine). Anyone have any idea what would cause this type of issue? While on the 10Mb plan, I'd see 10Mb or close to that on download speed tests. Upgraded to 50Mb plan, dont see anything above 10Mb and at times, its down to 3Mb. -- Never give anyone what you're not willing to receive yourself.
Yeah I saw that same issue but this is something completely different. Just spoke w/ tech support and they said some signal-to-noise ratio issue was responsible for what I've seen the last two days and that its been resolved. We'll see when I get home. -- Never give anyone what you're not willing to receive yourself.
Just got off the phone again w/ tech support. Hitting a max of 4Mb down right now and they said engineering is aware and they are working to resolve. Whatever they said was fixed yesterday...isn't. -- Never give anyone what you're not willing to receive yourself.
Kinda seems like cable one is going through a lot of growing pains after the wholesale switch over to 50MB+ service all over the place. I didn't have disconnect/slow down issues before, and now I get at least one disconnects during peak hours since they started offering no datacap 50MB service for the same price as the old 5MB/0.5MB serice.
I got lucky two nights ago when I called into tech support. Around 10pm on Saturday night I was getting less than 3Mb down and when I called in, the guy I spoke w/ told me the reason for the issue was due to the over congestion of the device upstream from me and that the reason engineering was involved was to the needed future hardware upgrade(s). -- Never give anyone what you're not willing to receive yourself.
