Re: Proving grounds said by Bahamut X:Knew things didn't activate, but I reforged my gear down to 5m levels vs. full on raid hit/exp capping. That's actually a good idea I didn't think of. I did notice that some of those mobs were 93, but it shouldn't matter much. Seal swapping is an interesting idea when there isn't much incoming damage. I was more focused on making sure I stayed alive though, so I just kept insight on. Of course, that resulted in most of my waves overlapping.
That final wave on gold is an absolute killer. Lots of luck, RNG, and pop every CD you have. I was killed several times even when I had kings up. |

Yeah its that final phase that's getting to me in Gold as tank. I am not having an issue keeping agro and staying out of stuff but she claims to not be able to keep me alive toward the very end of phase 10.
I have been trying to do DPS silver in tank spec but only to about wave 5 before my DPS is too low. -- Feralmordius on Ravencrest Server (US) Tank for Pride and Ego |

 | What I had to do was stun one of the large conquerors and run away as much as I could while making sure I had a defense CD up, and making sure none of the adds got on the healer. Other than that, almost pure luck and RNG. It's pretty easy to get away from the conquerors while they're doing their aoe attack, so take that opportunity to get away for fewer hits. Your outgoing damage is going to be pretty insignificant here, and the incoming damage is so high, that standing to tank is pretty meaningless, and pretty much suicide. |

As mentioned previously I did gold healing on first attempt. It never gets harder than heal and dispel (interrupts help but are optional) but gold does drain your mana.
I will try the tank one on my warlock in the hope the blueberry will do the vast majority of the tanking. |

I got gold last night, saving the berserker buff until the mini sha's shield is down was the key after numerous 10% wipes. |

Got through 38 waves on the tanking endless mode last night to get my title. I'll move on to get my DPS title now. Cool new feature that really tests skill. |

Did the bronze level DPS test, an absolute breeze as would be expected. From reading the topic, it seems like silver is at least moderately challenging, whereas gold is quite difficult. Should be a fun thing to work on while waiting for dungeon/LFR queues to pop. |
|
 | Your LFR/D queues will actually be paused while in a proving ground as they are technically a solo instance. Just an FYI |

 | Wasn't aware of that... thanks for the heads-up. |

It's not a total pause though. I'm unsure how it works, but as a DPS you can queue for an LFR, a dungeons and a scenario and literally go from one to the other as they finish. If it was a total pause then you'd assume the queue would start from where you paused it, which it doesn't. This also worked for the solo scenarios on the Isle of Thunder and the warlock green quest fire. |
|
 | Yes but you need to leave the instance or have it end. If you don't leave the proving grounds you are still technically instanced and the queue will not pop until you leave |

Same as the warlock green fire quest. If the queue said 25mins, I'd do the instance for 20 mins then leave for a 1-5min queue. |
|
 | That is not what I am talking about with paused. Yes the timer ticks but will not pop until your instance is over, and proving grounds does not end until you leave. If you are doing waves waiting for a queue to pop it won't happen. |

I understand which is why I said I said used to leave. |

Well - I was aware of this part (after all, it does say "queue-ing for solo instance" when you go to Proving Grounds) - but your initial post made it sound like the LFR timer didn't tick down while you were in PG, or scenario/dungeon. I know that you can't enter a different instanced encounter, if you are currently IN an instanced encounter. |
