not single target on a raid boss. much easier to accomplish AoE on lvl90 and lvl91 mobs. Disc auto-hit cap (for lvl93 mobs) only applies to holy spells, not shadow. Those are still awesome numbers in general, but they won't translate to raid-healing and dps numbers.

He got the crit trink last night for 50,000 coins which procs ~9k crit and is in his "dps gear" since mana on trash isn't an issue. But still... damn. Looking past my own dps struggles with Affliction, I have to give him credit. He's really setting a bar for me.

I need to see what I can really do, I wish the target dumbies were more spread out, they mess up testing due to aoe splash, and I'd rather test single target (inferno blast which I use when heating up procs to get a pyro proc also spreads fire dots and nether tempest hits nearby targets randomly in adition to its tick.

My Shaman can do 20k in resto spec, pushing up to 35k if I use the Fire Elemental/BL too all single target.

AOE she's awful.

I think I might be able to do 20k with my wand (I haven't tried)
last time I used it regularly was sindergosa, as a work around for unchained magic you know when it was current and the strat had to be followed (now I just ignore it and let it stack)

the old strat was at X stacks stop casting and use the wand (as it didn't count as a spell) until debuff falls off then stack back with group and cast. that way instead of doing no dps you'd do something.

I like the island and I like the Proving Grounds. Although Bliz got off to good start now we seem to be caught in an endless restart loop. While it's a pain constantly relogging in it did fix a huge artifact problem I was having that was so bad I couldn't go into any caves on TI.

Other than the raids, I'm pretty jaded of the 5.4 content already. You can see all that there is to see pretty quickly and then (at least for me) it just turns into repeatedly killing mobs to farm coins. And if you are decently geared already and planning to do Flex raids, I end up asking myself why I'm bothering to farm coins anyhow when the Flex/Reg gear is going to be the better items.

Even though you can get upgraded 535 items on the isle, my experience so far has been that it is better to stick with the 530 4pc items. And now that there isn't any VP gear and you are just spending it on upgrades for gear you may end up getting, there isn't any motivation to get VP capped either.

Timeless Isle has a lot for me in terms of pets/mounts/cheevos. The lock geared out the priest or mage in drops in just one week which is nice, but not really needed as I struggle to maintain 2 "mains".

Gear wise, it really isn't a place for mains. My lock has the ability to get one 535 item, but none of the tokens I have will upgrade a 510 piece and is it really worth wasting it for the extra 5 ilevels by replacing a 530 piece, considering I then have to gem and enchant it again, and will probably get a better piece from Flex.

I think it will take me a month or two to get bored.

agreed, however I logged my rogue this morning and went out to isle for his first visit, went to mid and they were fighting tiger boss...got my tag in and he dropped the 553 pants..nice way to go to work.

The burdens dont have the best stats and they also dont have gems. I think alot of the 522s upgrade 2/2 are better than the 543s. I did get 543 bracers and a ring which worked out ok.

Doing the world bosses each week will definitely be a reason to go. And to some extent the 50 lesser charms, though with the current drop rate that only takes about 10 min. Our priest who just turned in his 50,000 coins for his trinket had also accumulated around 1700 lesser charms in the process. I would not be surprised if they nerf the drop rate on those.

Anyone know if shield tokens drop? Almost unbelievably, our 525 prot warrior has had zero luck on shield drops in LFR or Regs of ToT and still has... wait for it... a 463 shield.

No weapons (so I'm guessing shields count) or trinkets it said on Icy Veins. Although I'm sure I read on here someone got a trinket. 100% no-no weapons wise though.

there's a trinket 496 that drops, but you can't use a burden on it. (lame)

My first impression of 5.4 is that I like it. I'm having a lot of fun on the isle. I haven't run SoO yet as I took a long break and am gearing up in ToT still.

Also, what's really fun is to kite a Great Elder Turtle from the beach over to the NPC's near the Celestials. Their AOE knockback and 1-shot breath attack is appreciated by all.

I've seen no weapons or shields, on 22 toons running the island and I've opened at least 200 boxes.

I really liked the puzzles. I was kinda hoping more of the island treasure chests would be like the pedestal hopping, tight-rope walking, and high-flying chests. It's not like they couldn't easily expand on some of these puzzles without a major patch. I have yet to do the albatross thing.

I was a little surprised that they made all the big ones marked on the mini-map (I was expecting to have to hunt more.)

I, too, was surprised by the giant silver chest on my mini-map. I first saw it near the pillars and thought people were gathered around the spawn point, but turns out they were waiting for something that comes from those small grey mounds. Are those some quest related things? Also, are the giant, non-marked-on-mini-map chests accessible once a week or daily?

I'm not impressed with Mindless Isle at all. The alts I have don't need the 496 gear and I don't plan on leveling any other alts for the time being.

I've only looted one 535 upgrade token while my wife has already looted 6... WTF

All we've been doing on the isle is taking birds up to Ordos area and farming the elites there. Besides the new raid I'm not too happy with this patch.
