 | [DSL] DSL modem settings Hello all,
So the dsl service is still down, but it seems that the line has been tested, and is good. I'm convinced that a power failure or power surge set the modem to default values. We've called EBox, and they have really helped in trying to re-configure the modem, but there must be some missing information, because we just cannot get it to connect. I have tried the 2wire, a Speedstream 6300, and I also have a sagemcom f@st 2864. Would anyone please have a step by step config for anyone of these modems? I'm not a newbie, but I just don't know the required Ebox settings? Thank you. |

 | have you had a bell ticket opened?
Also if 3modems dont get sync then clearly its not a modem issue. Have you tried connecting your modem to different phone jacks inside your home? You may have a faulty phone jack.
What kind of service did you get? |

Thank you all. There is no phone (dialtone), it is only a dry(wet) loop. At Ebox, there are able to see that we are trying to connect, which tells me that the line is good. Accessing the modem settings is no problem, I can configure all of them. The problem is, that I don't know which settings to enter. |

 | Hello Sparky I work for Electronic Box tech support. For your sagecom modem there is only 2 things that need to be done once you are logged into the modem you will need to click on internet right under the settings tab in your modem. Once you have click there all that is left is to enter your username and password then click on save. There is no additional setting. As for your speedstream I have never used this model exacly but I would imagine that it has some of the same settings as other speedstream modems. you must set your vpi/vci setting to 0,35 in your modem, make sure the encapsulation mode is llc, and once again your username and password are the last settings to put in. |

Thank you very much Eric. Is this still true, if the Sagemcom was used with Bell at one time? I will try it later on and reply back. |

 | I cannot say for sure if it will work. Also one more thing you will want to click the dns tab in your internet settings on your modem. And add the following 2 entry's 74.116.184.28 and 74.116.184.29 |

 | Hello Eric,
Well for some unexplained reason, and no other changes made, the internet suddenly started working again. Very strange situation. |
|
 | Can you send me a PM with either your postal code and name or your client number I will run a diagnostics on your line. |
|
 | So after many days of frustration..I would like to give Kudos to Eric for helping to solve the problem. Semms like there was a mix up in the wiring, and now the internet is working very well. Thank you Eric |
