I've mentioned before that I use an (iOS) app called TV Forecast -- it's shortcoming is that there's no Android or web version available.
Well, I just ran across a reference to FollowShows -- »followshows.com/ -- that has a web version available. It lets you select your favorite shows and then let's you know when the next episode will view (sound useful? I thought so!)
It has some other nice features, like pointing you to available (free or $$) streaming episodes, an RSS feed, etc.

My understanding is that it shows new episodes only. If a new episode is the show returning, you will see that, of course.
I don't believe it shows re-airings during a first-run season; I don't know about syndicated shows.
Also, this url: »followshows.com/new-tv-shows will work without creating an account if you want a quick list of new shows and a brief synopsis. I've been using FollowShows since MyTVRSS.com shut down since I used to have that feed me my tv show alerts via twitter using IFTTT. So far haven't found a replacement for MyTVRss.com .
I'd really like to find a new service that'll send me regular twitter updates the day the shows I like air the way MyTvRss used to. FollowShows, so far only sends email to the inbox not quite as good IMHO.
Try contacting the developer. I had a problem with my shows sync'ing up between the web site and the iPad app. He got back to me in about two days and it was working by that time.

Not sure how to set it to only send me notifications for new episodes only. I don't care about reruns and only want to be notified of new episodes. Do you know whether it sends notifications for anytime the shows is airing, regardless of whether it's a repeat episode or a new one, or only for new episodes?
Also, I found this app in the Google Play store for Android devices, Track TV. I'm not sure how good it is, but just thought I'd point it out to you guys.

As far as I know, you only get new episodes. Not sure when exactly that my various shows have been re-broadcasted in the past week or so of using this but I haven't gotten any notifications for them.

I logged in to checked to make sure I was still subscribed to those shows, and I was, so I don't get why I'm not getting the emails.
