 | [General] discount discontinued without notice Verizon has been giving volunteer firefighter a %19 discount for many years. I renewed my contract June 2012 and am now told that the discount has been discontinued-unilaterally and without prior notification. I NEVER would have recontracted of I knew that and I believe that they are breaching contract by changing midstream. They will not waive fees and fines and penalties if I leave now. Verizon has the worst customer service that I've ever seen. |

| Well, when some bank, forget which one, tried something similar, the injured party posted a full report on their Facebook page, and someone took action. You might want to try something like that. Their Facebook page is at »www.facebook.com/VerizonFiOS . |

Try calling Verizon again.
Contact a big news paper or your local TV station to do an interview with you and the other firefighters this is affecting. Especially if this is across the country, that's kind of a big human interest story.
I would think that you should be able to get out of the contract at least. If you owe a couple hundred in early termination, ask if they can at least half that. Better that than to have many pissed off firefighters.
Did you just get a letter or email saying "today your discount is not"? -- Are YOU just a turkey voting for xmas? |
