[Channels] Re: Anyone else with Ultimate HD have "Sports Pa

No luck yet. But at least they respond and say they are working on it

well no luck with tivo either, they told me its verizons problem and that verizon needs to authorise the cable card to receive the missing channels,I've been thinking of switching to directv and now 'm really thinking of switching to directv at least i know any problem i have there is a directv problem, but here i have to deal with both tivo and verizon ARRRRGG!! I know this stuff kinda happens sometimes but i really hate when one company blames the other, verizon makes me feel like they dont really want me to use tivo only their dvr,and tivo makes me feel like its not there problem and they dont care.! I do feel that its verizons fault not tivos . I guess i''ll just keep waiting and see if verizon fixes the problem soon.

I know this won't help the people with cable cards, but the fix for those with the Ultimate package and an STB...is to hit OK on the more info/subscribe icon on one of the sports pass channels you are not receiving. It tell you to activate free of charge. I had to do it last night. Why Verizon did not give people a heads up on this is ridiculous .

I went through the process of hitting OK and following the instructions to activate it. Actually, I have done it four or five times, but it doesn't work. After it fails, the STB gives you a phone number and an error code........which leads to more fixes that don't work.

[Channels] Re: Anyone else with Ultimate HD have "Sports Pass" r

I'm following up my post from the other day. After my 3rd one-hour call in as many days! I spoke to someone very helpful in the Fiber Solutions department, and she spoke to several people up the line in Billing. What they said is that they are going to re-add the missing channels to the Ultimate HD package as part of the package, and not as part of the Sports Pass. It seems that Tivo/Cablecard users cannot have the Sports Pass manually re-added to their account, as the Verizon STB widget is the only way for folks in this situation to free-subscribe to the Pass. A technician could visit, but basically they'd have to unhook the Tivo, unverify the Cablecard, install a Verizon STB, authorize the channels, and reverse-install the whole thing. I'll post over the weekend if this is successful - they claimed that the fix would be done by the end of the day today (Friday 9/20). This was a lot of work for four missing channels, but I was concerned that it could start happening to other channels without notice, and Cablecard customers would continue to be left in the dark.

dpasq

@verizon.net

And there you go - five minutes later and all the channels have re-appeared. I'm curious if this affected other people, or just me, but it's fixed!

I really wish Verizon would provide the same level of customer service like Verizon Wireless.

I called and asked about Universal Sports HD which is on channel 596.. No one had a clue what that channel was.

Over a week now and they're still out here.

If VZ doesn't fix this soon I have another provider who'd be more than happy to earn me as a customer with my bundle of 3 services...and they don't have a problem keeping channels on for me when I pay my bill on time.

That just sounds stupid.
But par for Verizon.

Still out here though. I don't really care about the channels but since they are supposed to be included in the Ultimate tier I expect to get them, otherwise I expect a credit. But I also don't want some idiot tech de-authorizing my cable card trying to get them to work since it already was a pain to get the card paired to the six tuner TiVo. With Verizon turning a process that takes only a few minutes into a 90+ minute process. Incompetence comes to mind when I look back on it.

They fixed my account last night. Twitter support sent me a note. However I lost my free HBO Go. Damn you Verizon!

Follow up, I have cablecards and opened a ticket with the verizon direct forum. They were able to fix everything without any other intervention.

I guess I should give them a try then.

I just did the same, thanks a lot for reporting back on that they're able to help. I'd rather go through the direct forum than twitter as they've been helpful in the past.

I'm back up now thanks to the VZ Direct forum. Definitely a valuable resource on this site I forget that's there sometimes. I don't think I'll forget it again after this!

I'm also up and running again after using the Direct forum. Took roughly half an hour between my original post and when it was resolved. Kudos to the Direct support!!

This after two separate calls to Tech support who both bounced me to Sales who both told me that they have no idea. I should have known better.

Ditto with the same responses that the Direct Forum was able to help and not the Verizon Chat or the phone calls.

Verizon Chat told me from three different chat sessions:

1) Cablecards can't receive HD channels and I would need new equipment to get the Sports Pass channels or any HD channels
2) I have an "older" Ultimate package and it is $15 to "upgrade" to the "newer" Ultimate package to get the Sports Pass.
3) It costs an extra $9.99/mo for the Sports Pass.

Its absolutely mind blowing how clueless 95% of the Verizon CSR's are.

Thank god for the Direct Forum here.

Simply post your trouble as a new topic. They'll get back to you. You'll always be able to read your own, but troubles for others are "off-limits".

Also make sure you are logged into the site before you go to the direct forum. You can not post there unless you are.

Same here. Posted on the Vz Direct forum and it's back now. Apparently it happened to quite a few people.

Yup me too. Tried to tune it in, and I now get a screen that looks like a 'press OK to subscribe' screen. I just put a posting in the Direct forum. Hopefully it'll get resolved quickly.

Again, after getting sports pass fixed, I had to open a ticket with verizon direct and have them fix redzone.

This is horrible. What about all the customers without access to this site and the Direct Forum and who call customer service who can't do anything? Why isn't Verizon finding out what is going on here and fixing it for everyone? This is terrible that people are losing subscriptions like this and being told the wrong things on the phone.
