You mean like this? The gal she is making out with plays Laurel from Arrow. The title of the movie is Kill for Me.

Just kidding, I know some people don't like shows that I think are great. It happens.
Yeah, that's just the way it goes sometimes,....
Eureka was one of the few shows I stopped watching. Usually I can stick with something once I get started and I have gotten though worse. Just couldn't do it for Eureka. It just seemed bland and pointless IMO,....
And there are many others,...
Revolution is getting by on a wing and a prayer,.....
With the fireflies I think they were simply trying to suggest that there is some latent electrical activity that manifests in some areas and at some unspecified times. perhaps unnaturally forming static electro activity that Animals are specially attuned to. sort of like Aurora Borealis collisions of charged particles into atoms but in this case not visible to humans and attracting animals like insects
Doesn't explain what happened to Aaron though,....
Nobody dying could be a real problem for everyone. Or maybe since he was in possession of the amulet its what brought him back.
When he was dead I was like, "pift, don't care, he was a bit annoying anyway, like the younger brother who amounted to little more then a stage prop or goal for the real main characters". Then when Aaron came back I was like, "OK, fine,....whatever,...wait what!?!?"
Finally finished up the first season, thanks to Netflix. I think I'm getting spoiled being able to watch a whole season with no breaks or ads.
I was thinking, when Neville sent for more C4, how is he going to set it off, without electricity. Then I slapped myself, realizing that the area just outside the Tower, as well as inside, has power.
Sucks they killed off Nora. Now hopefully I can watch the second season on the DVR. -- Is a person a failure for doing nothing? Or is he a failure for trying, and not succeeding at what he is attempting to do? What did you fail at today?.
One thing I don't get is why did the nukes go off if they turned the power off? Or did they not make it in time? And why did they leave the power off?
I may have missed something, I was pretty tired when I saw the episode. Plus, I'm not dying for an answer as I'm not going to be watching the show anymore. Just a little curious. -- "Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin to slit throats." - H. L. Mencken
I was in the United States Armed Forces (Army / Army National Guard) for quite a number of years before going to college to major in Electrical Engineering. My MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) was 12B and later 51B. 12B is combat engineer specializing in construction and demolition of roads and bridges as well as land-mine warfare. Demo is done almost exclusively with explosives like C4.
You can use a fuse with a blasting cap connected to det-cord to set off C4 (for example). You don't need electricity. Using electricity to ignite a blasting cap and set off C4 always seemed to have an extra layer of concern probably due to the possibility of a stray static charge (or other source). You take no chances when dealing with such materials. The protocol when using electricity was to shunt the electrical leads until you were ready to initiate.
As for nukes, it's not really something I am very familiar with. I seem to recall from university physics or modern physics that conventional combustable materials are used to achieve critical mass of the fissionable / fissile material. So such a chain reaction may not need electricity either.
When I was in, I served with a Headquarters company of a Combat engineer battalion. I was in S4 [battalion supply]. My MOS was at the time 51N [which was water treatment/purification]. I crossed trained into a 76Y [I think that was the number for supply at the battalion level, not sure].
As for nukes, my understanding is that they use conventional explosives to accelerate the nuclear material at each other. One article I read said it could be as much as 1 k pounds of conventional explosive involved. But it's also a complicated process, with a lot of built in safeties, to prevent accidental detonation. For example the recently released report on the near nuclear explosion in North or South Carolina. All but 1 of the safety devices failed. If that 1 had failed, the landscape might be a tad different.
I dunno why I thought the blasting cap was electrical, maybe to much Mythbusters?
-- Is a person a failure for doing nothing? Or is he a failure for trying, and not succeeding at what he is attempting to do? What did you fail at today?.
I was in the 102nd and then later 152nd Combat Engineers.
There are blasting caps that are pre-crimped with electrical leads. I always considered crimping a blasting cap to be something of a puckering experience. The protocol for handling a blasting cap was to have the business end (the closed end) in the direction of the little finger. That way if it goes off (unlikely) you still have your thumb and index finger.
You need that thumb and index finger so you can still handle a weapon / pull a trigger.
It's good that nukes have such stringent safety protocols. However, one would think that once its in the air and rapidly approaching its target that such safety features would be disabled.
I was in the 464th combat engineers. They haven't been around since the early 90's It was a reserve battalion. I recall the "fun" setting up a claymore for detonation in basic. Between that and hand grenades, it was an interesting "thrill". -- Is a person a failure for doing nothing? Or is he a failure for trying, and not succeeding at what he is attempting to do? What did you fail at today?.
Getting ready to watch season 2 opener. Just 1 question: With the missiles up in the air, couldn't they switch the power back off? The missiles might not hit their target or detonate if there is no power. Granted restoring the power might be tricky as the missiles might explode at that time.
Ok, off to watch season 2 opener. -- Is a person a failure for doing nothing? Or is he a failure for trying, and not succeeding at what he is attempting to do? What did you fail at today?.
In response to the nukes, the way it works is that you have your core of uranium surrounded by directional explosives that compress the uranium and cause a reaction. This is the simple version.
I don't know if you need electricity to spark the reaction or not.
What I DO know is that any nukes around after the events of revolution would be essentially worthless. You NEED electricity to maintain a nuclear weapon. Over time the core becomes less potent because of the half life for elements. You also need electricity to maintain the missile. Our minuteman missiles need constant attention to keep in working order. The idea that they could sit in a hole for over a decade and still work is laughable. The solid propellant may still work but the guidance computer will not.
Now lets just say that you avoided the missile thing and simply took a warhead and wanted to detonate it. Well it may still produce a nuclear explosion but it will be much smaller or simply be a dirty bomb. Still dangerous and deadly but not as destructive.
Also, you can't see nuclear missiles being launched from Kansas, hence Jericho is bunk as well. This is what happens when you work with nukes for 5 years. -- What smells like blue?
Half of the last two episodes took place during night with cinematography that was so poorly exposed that I could not understand what was happening. Basic facts like who won a fight or what are they looking at are lost in the shadows and half views. In season 2, episode 2, that slow motion scene was pathetic ruining what could have been a good twist. I am convinced the idiots filming this show will find countless ways to annoy and repel their audience.

Not sure I'm getting your point. Weren't the nukes in Jericho delivered to their targets via trucks?
