Need help with Mbr95

Hello guys i just got my new u770 from millenicom today and it is working wonderfully with a 8db antenna i get decent speeds on a -90dbm signal

anyway my Mbr95 seems to be having problems keeping my wifi connections online to my computers, on my desktop with the most recent drivers for both adapters i tried (an alfa AWUS036NHR and a Atheros ar 9271) neither will hold the connection for much longer then 30 minutes before losing the connection. i can reconnect right away but this obviously isnt gonna do for when im in the middle of downloading something.
My laptops built in wifi seems to do MUCH better holding the signal but still failed after about 3 hours of web browsing. i do think that my desktop is simply having driver issues but im not ruling out the router. anyone have any suggestions? the cradlepoint is updated to the most recent firmware (v.4.4.0) my laptop is running windows 8 64bit and my desktop is running windows 7 home premium 64bit

can you separate your U770 from the Cradlepoint with a USB extension cable? I've always had a problem with the modem directly connected to the router

well i removed the u770 from the router and put on the usb extension cable and taped it down with electric tape so it wouldnt run away my upload speeds have doubled consistently and my laptops been connected with ner a problem

My desktop is definitely the source of the problem mabye my 60$ asrock motherboard is getting ready to kick the bucket, will hit it with some compressed air in the morning and see if that helps. if not i've got a few more adapters in my arsenal as this aint my first rodeo!
on a side note this sprint connection feels soooo much more slick then my wildblue connection did even with 1/2 the overall bandwidth starting to regret paying for another month of WB.

Jim's advice is a "must do" for all cradlepoint owners. I was having the same problems with disconnects and they were cut in half after adding a 6 foot usb extension. They stopped entirely after the last firmware update. It hasn't dropped in two months.

seriously? first time i heard of that. will give it a try and report back.

didn't buy me anything. have great ping times but actual D/L & U/L are awful. i'm going with tower saturation.

Indeed i stayed up with it all night and did not have a single disconnect on my laptop, doing that also improved my upload and download speeds by about 30% consistently
Anyway my desktop is finally cooperating after i blew out all the dust bunnies with some compressed air, i downgraded my wireless adapter drivers to a known working set Then i fiddled with The power settings in the windows control panel and all is well now. all thats left to do now is tell wildblue what i think of them!

@Mad monk - The USB extension helps with disconnect problems but does nothing for your speeds. If you are getting speeds below expectations you are probably correct about tower saturation. I used to be on the Verizon 3G plan through M-com and I rarely saw speeds above 500kbps down. If I could maintain 300kbps down it was a decent day. Verizon is the major carrier around here and they just oversold the service.

understand that it won't help connection speed but for the past couple of months have been getting dropped, mostly when on company VPN. just trying to sort out if its tower congestion, WIN 7 enterprise upgrade or some other gremlin.

Check your router settings. Make sure the ethernet connection is not checked "enabled".
Make sure your modem is set for "aggressive reset".
