[Pricing] Re: Price check: How much are you paying for your FIOS

I quit my triple play, and wanted to go to internet only as I switched to Directv for tv. Had 35/35 and wanted that or faster. $89.99 for 50/25 was the only offer they gave me. I told them to go ahead and cancel. I went to Comcast for internet, but the guy didn't show up for the install, so I gave up on them. Called in Verizon, and was told my options were $89.99 for internet, or $74.99 for Internet and local tv on 2 year contract, so I took that option. No one ever offered a retention discount unless I kept triple play.

You should go with cable for a while.. Verizon does this to customers who just roll off promotion(s). They basically are saying to you YOUR BILL WILL GO UP, no ifs, ands or buts... So, you have to call their bluff and switch if you want a deal similar to what you had (standalone). Watch how much money they waste trying to get you back 2, 3, 5, 6 months down the line through mailings! In my experience, cable companies tend to have better customer retention policies than Telcos.

Couldn't be any worse with the cable company for 15/5.. $45, $45, $60 (including any possible rental fee).

I'm currently paying $112.xx a month for the FiOS triple play. I have 15/5, extreme HD (I think), HD DVR, 2 other HD boxes & 1 standard box. My 2 yr contract is up in a couple of weeks. They offered me the same package with Internet upgrade to 50/25 for $128.xx a month. I already mentioned that I can get Optimum 50/25 for $90 a month, but the person I spoke with didn't seem particularly motivated to keep me. My wife wants me to press them further which I will. She's only interested in price as long as she can watch DWTS. I would really hate to have to go back to Optimum. We had Cablevision for 17 years (lousy tv), of which about 7-8 years was with OOL (lousy Internet).

BTW I have an ExtremeHD triple play also and you have to compare it to the Optiumum Silver as both plans contain HBO and Showtime along with most major TV channels. That plan is $115 and if you want to compare it to their $90 triple play then PrimeHD for $20 less/mo mimics it.

Bundle Price Includes:

FiOS TV Extreme HD: 64.99
FiOS Internet 75/35: 60.00
24 Mo. FiOS Internet Bundle Discount thru Sep 12, 2013 ($5.00 off Internet): -5.00

STB Package - 2 Room: 19.98

Current Charges Subtotal: $134.97
Current Activity Total: $134.97

there's my most recent fios bill. with taxes and surcharges, the actual total comes to $140.78 per month. i'm gonna lose one of my two discount credits starting next month, so the bill will creep up just a bit higher. i think i'm gonna get on the phone with a rep and see about a loyalty discount. i kept fios through a move, and upgraded to quantum (which required a re-up of my contract), so maybe they'll throw me a bone. doubt it though. :p

That's a lot when I had 50/25 + Prime I was paying 79.99 so then add 1X stb 6.99 and you have dvr that is like 10.99 I think.

How do you pay 147. ? Promotional price is gone?

I don't do contracts which would only save 10 bucks and they trap me for a year. Nope. And that's the final all inclusive price. Yeah it's outrageous but Time Warner is even higher for half the service.

My price without anything added for just the service and equipment is 124.99

Buffalo, NY Area (GPON). Had service for almost 3 years.

SelectHD + 50/25 + 1 Cablecard

$74.99+$5 CC = $79.99 + $2 franchise fee =$82 all in

Phone - Anveo ~ $5 month all in, Obihai 202. Office line GV, Free.

This was a 24 month contract. I typically don't do contracts, however Verizon is so far advanced of Time Warner and we are so happy with them, it wasn't a problem. They would charge $20 a month more without the contract so it would have been $102. This is my ONLY service contract, and if Verizon weren't an A I wouldn't even consider it, but they are one of my top 3 service providers.

SelectHD has no RSN fees or sports so it's really cheap and has a surprising number of cable channels and all the locals. We are very happy with the package, and 50/25 is enough for all the family needs (3 kids constantly streaming) and my cloud activities.

That was without contract. Of course 1st year promo only.
The only reason I got contract now was because of the gift card.

If there wasn't gift card I would go without contract and then after 1 year do contract to keep same price.

For phone and internet 25/25 it is $65.
But that is part of a triple pay package with the extreme HD.
With taxes, tags, set top box and shipping charges it all comes to $154 per month.

Have 50/35 internet, DV, Prime HD and an HD DVR free for life for $84.99 - which includes a OneBill discount for having Verizon Wireless. FiOS has become our backup for TV though. We'd get rid of the TV side completely if not for the free DVR and the minimal difference in price - $5 - for internet and DV only. Worth it in case a severe storm or snowfall were to knock out the DirecTV signal. (When FiOS finally gets around to implementing a DVR with more than two tuners, we might switch back to it being the primary programming provider.)
