 | Can HomeConnect stream in Dolby or just PCM? I've had my UltraTV system for the weekend now and have my home network set up pretty well. The problem I'm having is the audio will only transmit in PCM and not 5.1, no matter the content I'm streaming (.mp4, etc). Any ideas?
Offshoot problem: After I'm done streaming through HomeConnect, the audio output remains PCM. I have to go back to the settings menu and reselect "Dolby Digital" to get it back to Dolby output. |

 | DD 5.1 works OK for me. Your server software might be transcoding if it is not aware of the media player capabilities, but I can't think of anything that would explain changing the device settings. |

 | I think I figured out what's causing the issue, but not why it's causing it.
The unit is connected to my receiver using an optical audio cable. Apparently, content from the hub will only play in Dolby if connected by an HDMI. Why, I have no idea. Everything else I have is connected with optical digital cables. Live TV comes in in Dolby. Why should recorded content be any different? |

I have my TV connected via HDMI but I have optical out to my receiver which comes in 5.1 surround just fine.
Could it be your receiver doing it? |

Let's not focus too greatly on how this whole things started because I didn't bother to check my receiver settings. Ahem.
Thanks for the input, boys. |
